That is ok Count of Flanders, and thank you for accepting.  Here's the list of what we have that may be usable if you wish:

A wolf-head type helmet. (I'm not sure how far north you're heading so it may not be all that useful.)
An anaconda-head type helmet. (Once again, maybe not all that useful, as RJMC said earlier your mod is very historical.  Ours, not so much. )
Several variations on a feathered shield. I believe there might be 2 or 3.
When J12-19 finishes it, a jaguar-head helmet, unlike what you will have seen.  It's different, but in my mind, cooler.
Possibly an eagle-head helmet.  I'm pretty sure I have one, but I'd have to check.
A few weapons that might be useful, but you guys seem to have that covered pretty well.

Cheers,

well about my content made for this mod I only care about authorship too and I dont mind about using those models though I wanted to make more stuff by me

however I propose that since we are low on menbers,if there is something that we lack experience, lets say programing the mod though ajolin seems very skilled at that,so anyway in case we need some assistance of something I propose help from your team in exchange of you people using any model you may require of mine, since I am planning to do more than just weaponry stuff cuz also will try to make households items and props and maybe ornamentations like statues and buildings and stuff like that as long as ajoling allow me

so if we are stuck in need of someone whit certain experience you can give us help in exchange of models you may want to use and if ajolin allow it

RJMC, about the scenes, you have to break scenes into pieces (like you said), and I believe it works like a multimesh (I guess you know all about multimeshes), because other way it would have too much polygons and would surpass the polygon maximum for an object in Warband. And when you place that building in scene edit mode in-game, it doesn't work like blocks but it's shown as a whole object/building.

sorry I dont know about multimeshes,is complicated stuff that requires more than modeling knowdlege?

to count of flanders: they are looking good

I think the feather ball dont require much work, look for a texture of feather crumbled together and you can use that since thats what it see it was and not a elbarota featherwork

the texture of the obsidian, try to focus the "white" on the tips cuz obsidian gets a bit translucent when is thinner
00nw14.jpg

though I guess thats a matter of transparency, and the white "noise" should be reflections but since m&b probably dont support that much graphical load them just play whit the white noise in any way you want

also I think simple decals would work better and instead of various diferent just repeat a very simple one or make it big so it covers more space

axe looks good bu the blade dont look like copper to me,though I really dont know how it would look, also had strings so it looks like its tied too

mace can have some decal too,but maybe something like geometrical shaped in the circunference or something like that

I think maybe we can take advantages of the textures to diferentiate more the weapons, like some decals on the weapons of the tlacaxtlan diferent from the aztec ones and so on if it doesnt consumes much recurses from the game

Well I could eventually help out with models, but you are way better at it than me, and I'm currently low on free time (tests, exams and whatnot). Oh, there might be something that could interest you...you could try contacting guspav (he is the author of the Mesoamerican mod (for some earlier version or vanilla Mount&Blade) for permission for some scenes, since he made them for Aztecs and Spanish, and maybe you could get some directions on how to make more scenes from those made by him...just a suggestion.

About the multimeshes: I don't know how to explain it precisely, but it is something like making more models, positioning them in (for example wings3D or whichever software you use) to make a more complex model. Then saving all those simpler models separately with same name, but adding .1 to them (so for example, one file would be aztectemple.obj , the second mesh would be named aztectemple.1.obj...something like that)... I have made the feathered shield for our mod this way, one mesh is the base of the shield, and the second mesh are the feathers (I made each rectangle, positioned them to interleave) - it will give the shield much detail but won't encumber the memory. It is one of the shields that we need UVmap and texture for (which is still above my skill), so you will be able to see multimeshing on that model.

Oh, and RJMC, compliments on the models you've done - just by looking at the pictures I can see they are well made, good job. Also, compliments to Count of Flanders for nice textures, and ajolin for managing this mod.

Sorry for the long post, I'm looking forward to cooperating with your mod team Ajolin.

Cheers everyone,

Everyone seems to turn my attention to that old v.808 mod
i took a look at it, and im sure RJMC could make better models.
WE DESPERATELY NEED A NEW MAP! I WILL NOT RELEASE THE ALPHA VERSION UNTIL THEN!

Yes RJMC, that seems reasonable enough.  If you guys need help with anything I'm at your service.  BTW seeing as you need a map, may I recommend you get in touch with Demonwolf.  He did the map for Extended Factions and is a pleasure to work with.

Cheers,

Yeesh Flanders, consider yourself moved from helper to Texturer. also, im not a good drawer (if thats the word) with the mouse, and i dont necessarily know the exact shape and dimensions of the Mesoamerican peninsula. by the way, i want to make the Mayans a playable faction, but possibly as an expansion. also after this, once this mod is as least buggy as possible and is a stable version, i might make a mod about the time a couple hundred years later, focusing possibly on the entire world in the 1700's and the colonization and discovery of various continents, and possibly as a n expansion to that, the imaginary Terra Australis as a discoverable continent. but one step at a time, and lets focus on The Aztecs.

Well, I believe you, but at least it can help RJMC with discerning how to create Aztec (and other Central and Southamerican tribes') buildings and scenes. Just trying to help.

If I may add, maybe it would be better to place Mayans instead of the second Spanish/Cortes faction...I think it would bring more people to try and play the mod.

those looks much better ajolin

also can you post what are the decals so we can be sure they are aztecs ones so we dont end up whit someone telling use we got wrong decals there?

though I think you can find tons on the internet
here is a page that explains some glyphs and significance
http://www.ancientscripts.com/aztec.html
but you can use anything as long as is aztec looking, and those are looking very good imo

also ajolin, you can take this topographical map that was on that tutorial and crop the place you want
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cf/WorldMap-A_non-Frame.png

also I have been reading more and it looks like there was some maya cities still habitated during the conquest, the ones in the centre of yucatan where the collapsed ones but chicne itza seem to be still ocupied, and not in ruins at the time of the conquest

so maybe is possible to add them as the maya faction, but I have to see first if there was other big cities or gruops, but still the maya where divided in tons

also chichen itza is at the north of yucatan, and if there wasnt other cities from the aztec lands to there them maybe we can add them as some small faction if there wasnt any other ones
so I am unsure, will keep looking for more info
cuz the problem is that I cant find any info about if the maya went into more "primitive" kind of lifestyle or still have big constructions and such, though it seems chichen itza was populated and wasnt in ruins or atleast total ruins

so we will have to research more on that specially if there was other populated cities nearby, but since the maya werent "united" them it will be a tons of factions,or maybe we sacrifice historic realism and turn them into one single faction

or choose the most prominent groups of the times and made some few maya factions

cuz you can add more factions to m&b right?

also,it seems yucatan wasnt so interesting to the spaniards cuz there wasnt much gold there so sure that may explain the lack of info

EDIT: one problem, when the spaniards arrived at chichen itza they didnt find resistance

so yeah I think if we want to put the mayas we would have to sacrifice some of the historic realism, but will keep researching

Here are some of the decals (brushes for Photoshop) I use, feel free to make circles with paint around the ones you prefer:
aztecdecals.jpg

Edit: Textured the lowpoly chimalli:

looks good but the "skirt" wasnt all of feathers,it have a strips of leather of colors,is the part whit no thicknes the bottom part is where the feathers go

also those leather strips can be just some colors dont need to add much detail but the shield decal is looking good

here is some that picture that we all are using
aztec20warrior20weapons2018rl.jpg

as you can see its just some strips, also the borders of the shield where colored too

and in those decals image most of the top ones are aztec looking, the rest is unknow and down is more maya looking so use the first 2 top lines except the obviously diferent ones

EDIT: funny fact, the aztec used bee hives to trow at the enemy

also regarding the aztec weapons, the spanish chronicles the maquahuitls ad other obsidian weapons where very good at cutting some even better than spanish weapons

so that means that the weapons shoudlnt be as "inferior" to the metal weapons

but I have been thinking if is possible to add some "durability" to the native weapons ,kinda like the shields, cuz they broke up very frecuently
and them the player would have to be buying new weapons while the spaniards metal weapons will have the advantage of not eroding
but maybe not exactly full destruction of the weapons and more in the like of losing sharpness and things like that specially for the obsidian bladed ones

dont know if m&b implement something like that, but I think it would be a interesting adition cuz will make the players to keep buying new weapons frecuently and will make the metal swords of the spaniards very tempting and give them some other kind of advantage too and also adds realism

I've reworked the bottompart but due to uvmapping already been done I won't be able to easily redo the borders I'll leave them as they are. I'll take your advice into account. Thanks.

this is a sketch of the jaguar suit I will use to make the model
jaguarwarriorsketch.jpg

as you can see I was undecided on the head but ended up based mostly in this sculpture
efa_99_2.jpg

thats because I wanted another reference besides codices since codices dont seen to show finer details, also cuz I liked it since is not so over stylish and still real looking jaguar head
the other stuff is just some extra drawings to not waste space of the cotton jacket and other things

right now I am finalizing the sketch of other suits, maybe will post them a bit later

also some info

it seem metal greaves where used in the legs and arms, probably made by gold or copper,so that will be armor for the legs but you can put the arm greaves as part of hand armor or hand armor is only to the hands? cuz if we want to put arm greaves I dont want them to put them whitt he main armor so the player can choose to wear them whitout being forced to it

also I want to see if other groups used some distinticve animal headress or other kind of extravagant wear in case we dont know

maybe is possible that priest who went to battel used mask of gods or things like that

also,in m&b can the lords use especific headress like crowns? aztec used some kind of crown so maybe it can be added so the lords wear them atleast in non combat mode when you talk to them

also regarding the conquistadores

the iconic helmet called morrion wasnt used by the conquistadors and was invented some 10 years after the conquest, but was related to the conquistadors for idolatrying reasons since it was a widely used helmet and they wanted to associate it whit the conquest eras that where the biggest event of the time for the spanish

so I guess if we want to keep realism we would have to ditch the iconic helmet though the real helmets weared by conquistadors where very similiar
like this one
Cabasset.jpg

also crossbows where used widely whit the matchlock guns, and since I dont want to use the same ones in m&b,to add new crossbows I need to animate it or just the model is enough?
