SGYY is short for San Guo Yan Yi (三國演義); Chinese for Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The name RoTK was already taken so I had to make my mod different somehow
; saying Dynasty Warriors didn't seem fitting.
Awhile ago, I started on this mod with hopes to make a "Heroes Across Time" scenario that you find in some Koei games. This is where the mod will differ from the other RoTK mod. I tried to make the map as historically accurate as possible, but I am NOT trying to be point on with regards to the political spectrum for the period. What I mean is that I am not choosing (for example) 216 AD as a starting point. Rather, I'm trying to include as many officers and factions as possible to make sure the scenario covers everyone ever involved. When I was making the map, I stretched it out to include parts of Korea and Vietnam (since I know Korea had a mini three kingdoms era of their own; I included them as well); so China is very vast (as it should be).
What I have done so far:
-Huge, original Map of China (Historically accurate according to this map)
-Chinese-Era Themed Music
-45 Towns, 101 castles, and 253 villages (More to be added)
-35 Factions (and 6 claimants: more to be added when I figure out how to do that) with approximately 350-400 Count NPCs
-16 Troop Trees
-Unique banners for all 35 Factions
-Other Screenshots
Overall progress:
Items: ~80%
Troop Trees: ~90%
Map: ~95%
Locations: ~60%
Scenes: 0% (Looking for Sceners!)
Textures: ~75%
Character Specifics: 10%
Economy: 0%

If you want to help; go ahead and shoot me a PM; I'll need a lot of help with facing the many, many NPCs, as well as with making the towns each have unique and accurate scenes. If you're great with coding, you can help integrate some of the OSPs I have my eye on into the mod. If you're great with textures, I could use some custom textures for my mod based on armor/weapons in the period
. Finally, if you're good with the history of the period, you can help with checking over all the details regarding the different towns, areas, and NPCs (and design claimants for other factions).

What is being done:
-Balancing the economy (For some reason, everyone starts out veryrich poor and without any cattle >.>)
-Making up Lady NPCs; As much as I would love to include plenty of marry-able daughters for each faction, virtually every woman who has a history in RTK is already married to someone
-Fixing some bugs (Courtship is a little weird in my mod right now; as well as getting all the proper images up in the notes section for factions)
-All textures; though I have found some great models for the period that I need permission before using
-Code in essential OSPs (Such as Diplomacy)
What needs to be done:
-Add in additional towns, castles, and villages (Some may have to be fictional ones (or places there in the future) that are added in to give the game more depth)
-All the Scenes need to be customized (Well, not all; but the ones looking like Scandinavia and the Middle East need to go
)
-Giving faces to the many NPCs; the Warband engine is only so good when making unique and distinguishable Chinese faces. I'll look into OSPs or other works for this.
-Making the troops of the different trees unique (though the stats and skills are all different; virtually every troop tree has the same armor, weapons, and faces atm)
-Add the trees into the factions (atm, the troops are there but not assigned as faction-tiered troops or in party templates so they do not appear in the appropriate factions)
-Balancing the map: Atm the map is "Historically" accurate assuming the source for my map is accurate. Regardless, this has led to a bunch of very packed areas with empty areas surrounding them. It is very likely I'll move a lot of the villages and castles to more evenly distribute the parties on the map.
-Fix the game menus and strings throughout the game (IE: Changing Medieval Caldaria to RTK China for the dialogues)
-Determine what else has to be done: I'm a team of one atm so I probably forgot something
