In southern Europe a new power is stirring, having brought all of Italy under its heel the Wolf of Rome now turns its attention to across the seas, but were will its gaze fall upon first? The strong Carthaginian Empire, with its mighty navy and proud Phoenician legacy, or perhaps on the city states of Greece, the birthplace of invention, philosophy and culture, or will the wolf take on the vast and wild lands beyond the Alps, inhabited by large, fierce and fair skinned warriors. Or could history be altered? Will Hannibal finally smash down the gates of Rome, could the warring states of Greece unite against a greater foe, or will the barbarian hordes pour over the alps in a great wave destroying all in their path. In this fragile time for the republic and nothing is certain, with the Illyrian pirates picking at its heels and the threat of rebellion ever present the future of Rome and indeed the ancient world is far from certain.

You might want to fix a few things in the post. You've got Legionnaire (as in a member of the French Foreign Legion) for the Roman mainstay infantry class. What time period are you setting this mod in? Is there supposed to be a semblance of historical accuracy in the mod?

Also, good luck!

In addition to DarthTaco's suggestion, perhaps you should put [M] at the end of the thread title to signify that it is a multiplayer mod. This is the customary way of informing people. You might also consider specifying that it is a persistent world mod (if it is one, which it sounds like). These things aren't at all necessary, but are useful to inform people. Some players may not visit threads that don't appear to be multiplayer for example.

Hey, look! Another Rome mod, gee... I ain't ever seen one of these before.

You'd really think people would at least try and make one based around the Migration period instead of either early imperial or late republic.

Thank you for your responses and actually reading the post

Now answers to your questions:

DarthTaco:

1. Thanks for pointing out the errors (my bad on that xD).
2. In terms of time period  around 58 bc for a change
3. On the point of historical accuracy, There will be a lot of historical factors focused more around the weapons and armors of each faction as well as specialisms.

To be honest with the whole community I absolutely love Roman mods and Roman History, Myself and my Dev team have that in common which will in turn inspire use to give the community the best experience possible... All you as the community really have to do is give the mod a chance

This, atleast make it SP with a storyline. Unless you add some big great unique never before seen feature to this mod. It will be dead after the first few days of release.

No offence but maybe you should focus on new and unique gameplay ideas and features. Really from the looks of it this is just one of the thousands of mods that are nothing but empty reskins from a time period thats been milked hundreds of times (Dont even get me started on all the empty reskin colonial era mods on here). And even worse that this is for multiplayer since it most likley will go dead and a dead MP mod is unplayable.

I have the utmost confidence in my team that we can deliver what is needed to both grow and sustain the community. In terms of new ideas and gameplay Siege warfare is going to be more developed with the introduction of working siege engines such as catapults and battering rams.

I appreciate the nice comments said thus far , Hopefully i'll see you in - game soon

Kind regards

If it's set in 58 BCE why is it called Rise of an Empire? The Romans still had about 25 years to go until they became an Empire. On top of that the factions like Sparta were simply...Roman. In 146 BCE they were conquered completely. Apollonia was taken by Rome in 148 BCE ifI remember right. Carthage was long gone as well. Maybe you'd be best to set it in 158 BCE, before everything was Roman.

Taco thank you for your input but we are trying to make a game that's fun and fair. And if you want to make a mod that is 100% accurate go to someone else... For myself and my Dev team its all about the community having the best gameplay experience

Rise would indicate it was right on the verge of going imperial, I.E during the struggles between Marcus Antonius and Augustus.

But the impetus behind the fall of the republic had been there for decades, even centuries in fact- that's why the republic was destined to fall sooner or later. Also, Rome was building an empire whilst still a republic by conquering lands such as those of the Greeks. In this sense Rome was becoming an empire through its conquest of Carthage, Greece, Hispania and Anatolia, which is what this mod reflects. Its supremacy over these states was the creation of an empire in itself and definitely one of the reasons for the collapse of the republic, so the title makes sense to me. It is a broad, long term view of the process of becoming an empire.
