B Native Musket Era [WB] Renaissance Mod - Beta Released

But we don't have Castille/Aragon/Navarra/Portugal? Are there any plans on them? Or... or... COLONISTS somewhere? New lands? The Americas? The quest for the new world? EXPLORERS? When you got the basic things done... this could be nice.  :grin:

Oh, a part of this is covered by our other partner mod, The Battle of Alcácer Quibir.

Hopefully we will be able to have some other period specific stuff. :wink:

Somewhere in the past, when my god-forgotten mod was still in development, I stumbled on something like "Faction in a faction" thingie. This could cover several factions in one! I just need to find it...

I think that, being the original Nords kinda Anglosaxon (remember the Huscarls?) (and Vikings, of course), they sould be now based on Tudor's England. I'm not much informed about Scandinavian renaissance (did they even had one in early XVI century?), but surely England would be much more suitable (with of course a preminence of longbowmen over arquebuisers, even then).

Vaegirs should be a mix between Poland and Muscovite Russia.

Khergit were based on mongols, even if I've read somewhere they were based off kinda medieval turks, of which I'm, again, not very well informed...so, I don't know about mongolian renaissance and I don't even know about mongolian fate after the XIII century, but shouldn't they be the Ottomans?

Or maybe, as the main islamic faction, Sarranid should be Ottomans. One thing for sure, somebody HAS to be Ottomans. Everybody feared the ottomans those days, with two suitable factions they CANNOT be left out  :grin:

 
No, they're Scandanavians. 'Huscarl' is a Danish import, dating back to Canute's rule in England, not an original Anglo-Saxon type of soldier.
EDIT: The only reason that Huscarls are so associated with England is the attention that they receive due to the events of 1066.

Ragnar is Norse/Germanic and also as you may have noticed the Nords not only use the crow/raven as a symbol but also on their flag, and as I recall that's also what the Saxons did before there was something such as Anglo-Saxon.

Ah, I have been watching the progress of these mods with great anticipation! will this mean that we will be sharing resources with them as well?

:oops: Thank you, you're very flattering towards the Renaissance Mod, but I also like the others a lot.

We all are still in a very early phase of development and so I recommend to be patient for The Battle of Alcácer Quibir and The Twilight of the Sun King. As for Age of Change II, we've already a very very big contribution from their side which is the zimke_contrib.brf. :grin: Indeed I should really type ZIMKE in caps, because this is a very nice looking contribution of which we still have not implemented everything in the beta. (However, for the sake of surprise, we've only added a light version of this BRF for the beta... :wink: )

Matmohair1 from the TBoAQ contributed really nice references that are quite inspiring for our mod, just check back some pages. :grin:

And Cel from TotSK did similar, she sent me large quantities of item photographies and has thrown in the expertise on early powder guns :grin: , which is valuable for my upcoming meshing/texturing work (I have to admit, my knowledge about this aspect of Renaissance was near zero before, since being an amateur sports fencer, I prefer some blank steel :wink: ). She also offered to code for us, but I'd feel better if she'd commit her abilities on the TotSK first, and just supports us. 

After all, all the mods have their weaknesses, which often are complementary. The idea in the partnerships is to join our strength, expertise and special abilities to get each mod better.
