Anyway, Bay, have you noticed that the new beards (also maybe the old ones) clip through helmets? Even through the fullhelm stuff? Have you got the "covers beard" flag on the new stuff? (If I remember correctly ) Also, I didn't check the old helms, but I think that the problem may be there.
Viktor is actually a German variant spelling of Victor (they use it both ways, from what I understand), and Magnus is Latin for "the great". I'd forgotten that many Scandanavian kings adopted it! I was thinking of Charlemagne (Latin: Carolus Magnus) originally.

Yes, that's true. We still have some time during Christmas thinking of a new name. Charlemagne was one big man However not exactly fitting here ^^

I'm adding it to those Armets and closed Burgonets. For the open Burgonet: I'm not so sure it's really looking that bad. After all, your character looks awesome!
A wild idea appeared: What about Wilhelm von Ostmark as a Swadian lord in the next release?
Anyway, name ideas for our Kaiser:
Maximillian Viktor von Haus Loherhollern,
Maximillian Viktor von Loherhollern,
Maximillian Viktor II.
Superüberpartykaiser II.
Viktor II. the Knightly
Maximillian Viktor II. , the Knightly
The same, but with "c" instead of "k" in "Viktor"
Or the same, but with "Loherzollern" instead of "Loherhollern"
Yes, I like the combination of "Maximillian" and "Viktor"

Oh, it should also have some Calradian touch to it.

Edit 2:
Somewhat alienated: We need some special spelling to pick, a real-earth name person running around in a world rounded up by the unreal-earth names of Praven, Suno, Uxkhal, Dhirim makes an out of scope impression.
Also Swadia is mix of Germany and France.
If a crossing of Francis and Maximillian wasn't so ridiculous: "Francillian" or "Maxincis" I'd go for something of the sort... an "-illian" sylabe at the end and some Frankish or Latin root.
But then people are calling him Maxie. Or Max. Eh. Maybe something will come to us over the Christmas break.
Also: I had cheat mode on while testing the game, and had no idea that Ctrl+L would cause drastic level gains. So I'm on the character sheet trying to rename my character, and utterly vexed that every time I try typing his name I hear that symbol crash and see four or five levels go shooting by...
I just tried this mod, and I like it alot. Just some critique/suggestion:
The Nords seem a bit generic right now, so it would be cool if you made the them based on English/French armies. As opposed to the prevalent mercenary armies, the Nord army would have a socially hierarchical and state-run troops, relying largely on the bill, longbow, and fully armored lance cavalry. The faction would basically be the lingering remnants of medieval Calradia, much like England and the French ruling class was for Europe. Even though England and France aren't "Nordic" countries, their theme would offer more faction uniqueness than would Scandinavia, whose military heyday passed with the viking age. Additionally, with English, you wouldn't have to bamboozle yourself with those tongue-twisting troop names.

Who would be the representant of Scandinavia then? People will complain "lol omg wherz Nordz n Scndinavie u suck lol". I would say, stay them as they are, and maximally add a new faction based on England. The Frenchies are in Swadia. Not mentioning the extra work, which he could put in a better use. And there is already some work in progress on them. Remember, this is just the first release.
BTW, have you thought of making some of the mercenaries from outside Calradia?
Some nations that exist:
Geroia (Spain?)
Balion (English? Scottish?)
Jumne (similar to the Nords)
Charnye (borders Vaegirs, perhaps Poland for some Winged Hussars )
Zendar (Swiss pikemen?)
Lokti (Portugal?)
I'm big on the Nordlanders. When my schedule clears up a little a couple weeks into January, I'm going to be looking at the commoner/peasant costumes and I've got a couple ideas for the Nords. Bayard and I have bounced around some ideas. They shouldn't be generic at all by the time we're done.
Orthography was not an early modern strongpoint, maybe some "alternative" spellings could be used in unit names for a bit of extra atmosphere - this in regard to the "musceteer".
Gave the mod a try last night, and am liking it so far. Blackpowder weapons seem rather strong, being slightly more damaging and faster than in WFaS, but overall, the balance seems to be headed in the right direction for a generic 16th century setting.
Having it set in Calradia instead of an actual historical setting is refreshing as well.
Good job on the mod so far, I'll be keeping an eye on this and see how it develops further.
I played it for the first time for a couple of hours. Definitly AWESOME!!! Love the highlander armor. It was also pretty sweet to make 19K by betting in the tournament. Also, I forgot how nice it is to have that extra 100 starting renown when your father = impoverished noble. I have a few suggestions about tweaks and additions though. This mod is way better than WFaS already but alot of WFaS's features were nice. If they were somehow implemented, this would be the best mod out there.
1. The mercenarys you hire in taverns could use more variety, as in tiers. All the mercs I saw so far have been top tier, availible in only small groups, and require a small fortune to hire and pay. Some cheaper, mid-tier mercs that could be hired in larger groups would be nice (for example, in WFaS, I could hire 15 merc pikemen for 700 thalers)
2. In the Renaissance period, banks were used increasingly by merchants and nobles. You shouldn't have carry those 20,000 denars around with you burning a hole in your pocket, just waiting to be taken the moment you lose a battle. Banks would be a nice addition.
3. Everyone knew this was coming, but here it is: Caravans were really nice in WFaS.
The things implemented here (new weapons, armor, and firearms, and new troops) are implemented very well. but in essence it's still M&B Warband native. Hence the suggestions above. Also some new quests, more new companions would be nice.

No bugs found yet, except the map loading time is, as aforementioned, fatally long.
