Introduction
The goal of Issatya was to provide a new horizon for Ordained Studios, the collective group who are currently the development team for IRP; after having worked on numerous other small projects from small mods to web design - we decided we'd venture to something bigger, to merge our favorite game-styles and our professions. Thus, we came to the conclusion to develop IRP - an opportunity for great expanse on the Warband engine. We've striven our utmost to provide an immersive, enjoyable and believable universe for IRP - taking into account all manner of aspects when it came to the production of our lore, coding and layout - all of which has been in development since September of 2012. Anyway, without further ado - Issatya Roleplay.

Brief History of Issatya
The time is 1270, and the lands of Issatya are troubled.

While the other factions continued to war with one another, the Sultanate took a new direction after the death of Sultan Hakim in 1259 and the rise of his son, Sultan Azar. He felt the Sultanate would strengten if they remained disinterested spectators and gave the chance for the other factions to kill one another. This attitude proved itself successful for some time, raising and reinforcing an army to be feared by all of Calradia. The Sultanate prospered, continuing to hold the key city of Issatya unopposed, and amassing a wealth in gold. The peace did not last, however, for in a series of blunders in 1262, the Sultanate had been misinformed and led to believe the Khergit Khanate and Vaegirs were at war. A small force was amassed to invade and capture bordering territory of the Khanate, only to find the Khergits still present in full force. The invading forces were slaughtered and war was declared between the two nations. To counter this, forces from Issatya were sent to the frontlines, only for the Rhodoks to strike and take the city. Embarrassed and frustrated with how such a small mistake ended the Sultan's years of peace, Azar completely reformed his legion of spies and saboteurs. The war came to a quick end with a treaty the next year, the Sultan eventually claiming the initial invasion force was a large group of deserters, unaffiliated with the Sultanate, and after a large payoff, the Khanate accepted it. With the war dealt with, the Sultanate had its eyes back on Issatya. As the Sultanate amassed outside the walls of the city in the year of 1265, the Rhodoks surrendered before the fight had begun. Issatya was back in the Sultanate's hands.

In the year 1261, more envoys began to arrive to the land of the Kingdom of the Nords in Calradia, all coming from the Nordlands, the place of origin for the Nordic people. They began to act as foreign thanes to offer advice and support to the current Nord ruler, King Ragnar, and their eyes were fastened on the territories of the other factions, particularly the Vaegirs, once they have heard news of Khergit attacks on the southern borders of the tundra Vaegirs. In 1263, the Nords began gaining a foothold over the Kingdom of Vaegirs by outmanning them in terms of manpower and outmanouevering them in terms of strategy.  When the Vaegirs retaliated by assaulting the villages and stealing their livestock, the Nords began to falter as the rulers in the Nordlands began to reconsider supporting King Ragnar. What had started as a small wish of backing him in order to gain more territory ended in a betrayal of the Nord ruler in Calradia. Ragnar had grown greedy, granting himself more territories which had angered and outraged a good portion of the Nordic thanes, causing them to abandon him. By 1265, a truce was signed with King Yaroglek, who has also been weakened by the stress of warring with a rival faction, but this truce hadn't settled all of Ragnar's debts. A claimant by the name of Lethwin Far-Seeker began to question his leadership, and many of the old thanes have begun to side with him. Lethwin managed to take over the throne in 1268 and exiled King Ragnar to the Nordlands, but then a power struggle broke out amongst the nordic thanes, who had considered Lethwin to be even weaker than his predecessor.

A war had begun between the Kingdom of Vaegirs and the Khergit Khanate in 1259, which began with the regular Khergit raids until a few boyars were captured and killed, with their daughters sold as concubines to the Sarranid Sultanate. The conflict had enraged both sides, revealing the brutality of the Vaegirs, led by King Yaroglek, and the savagery of the Khergits, led by Sanjar Khan. The Kingdom of Nords, then led by King Ragnar, had seen a chance at taking over some of the Vaegir strongholds while they were occupied with the Khergits, and had declared a war in 1263. What they hadn't realized was that the Vaegirs and Khergits were not at a constant state of war, but rather fought against each other in combat once in a while. The Vaegirs had managed a decent attempt at defence, but lack of preparation caused them to fall back and retreat from the invading Nords. In 1264, a Khergit by the name of Dustum Khan approached Yaroglek and offered peace, though his power over the Khergits was not recognized. Yaroglek spared him no attention, though his son Boyar Pyotr began helping Dustum in his plots to overthrow Sanjar Khan. Under Boyar Pyotr's short rule in 1265 due to an accident suffered by Yaroglek when he attempted to mount a horse, a truce was signed with the Kingdom of Nords, gaining a small relief for the besieged Vaegirs. However, a few months after the Khergits began to attack in flocks once more, so Pyotr and Dustum Khan turned their attention to the matters in the south. After almost 2 years of fighting, Dustum Khan succeeded in appealing to the Khergit Noyans, pleading for a time of peace and not conflict. Sanjar Khan was stabbed in his sleep, and so the skirmishes between the Khergits and the Vaegirs were at an end. King Yaroglek is thinking of handing his realm over to his son, Boyar Pyotr.

They are now peaceful, for Sanjar Khan was murdered in his sleep in 1267 for constantly raiding other factions and leaving the Khergits in peril of retribution, and with the support of numerous Vaegir and Khergit commanders, Dustum Khan has taken over and leads a passive form of rule. The previous war between the Khergits and the Vaegirs had led to many caravans being burned and looted, which was seen as a disaster in the markets of Calradia, for it had robbed many influential merchants and lords of significant profits. The Khergits had taken to utilizing caravans rather than plundering them in order to import items that were made rare to the other factions due to the uncivility and lawlessness of the pre-Dustum Khan era. Arts and literature were now encouraged by the new regime, though this change was met with difficulty by the educated men of the other lands of Calradia, still not trusting the ex-plunderers and nomads. In 1269, the new Khergit regime was thrown into disarray by mass revolts conducted by the conservative-minded Khergits, believing that it has strayed too far from the traditional ways of the old, which led to many deaths in the bustling Khergit towns and once more garnered the instability that characterized Sanjar Khan's rule.

With the rivalry between Swadia and the Rhodok lands, it wasn't difficult for a war to erupt in 1266, with campaigns rumbling the countrysides weekly. Count Klargus' death in a skirmish with Rhodok forces in the year 1268 had marked a significant turn in the Kingdom of Swadia. He being the ruler of Suno made things harder for King Harlaus, who needed a lord to take control of the city, for it was a major hub for trading and diplomacy between Swadia and the other Calradian factions. It was not long after that King Harlaus began to enter senility, and in his feeble state, many of the Swadian lords protested to having him as a ruler. Klargus's son, Count Beranz was spurred into taking Harlaus' throne from him by the now-elderly Lady Isolla, who began to convince many of the lords to side with Klargus' heir. King Harlaus' moves were in turn plotted by Count Delinard, the lord of Uxkhal, who had seen that if Lady Isolla came to power, many changes in leadership would occur, theorizing that Isolla felt resentment towards the other Swadian lords for not supporting her own claim before. 1268 also saw the assassination of Delinard, which left his son, Count Rafard, to take over Harlaus' loyalist movements.

It was always King Graveth's intention to spark the crumbling of the Swadian kingdom, a goal he had worked on for many years, though the opportunity came to him in 1265, when he began to devise a plot of eliminating King Harlaus, which failed when his attempt to start a war was met with fierce opposition from his own council of Rhodok counts. It took nearly a year for Graveth to start a conflict when he sent forces to burn multiple Swadian villages on account of Rhodok diplomats found dead in the town of Suno. In 1266, a lady by the name of Isolla began to seek Graveth's court, and through her advice and information, Graveth managed to eliminate 3 high commanders, and an important count by 1268. The murdered Count Klargus' body was sent to the Swadians, which led to disarray on a widespread radius across the Swadian towns as criers began to report that Suno was lost, and for the Swadian lords to gather on deciding what could be done to salvage the critical situation. By this time, the Swadian King Harlaus had gone senile. King Graveth managed to spark a power struggle amongst King Harlaus' lords, and he began to discreetly support Lady Isolla's moves in taking the throne from the withering King, and it was he who sent forces to target castles and towns owned by Harlaus' loyalists rather than attack the territories owned by Isolla's backers. King Harlaus' main lieutenant Count Delinard was killed by Rhodok forces masquerading as Swadian crossbowmen in the battle for Uxkhal, which had helped in cementing the power of Isolla's supporters.
