Huh... didnt expect this mod to progress quite rapidly..

Hope it stays this way till completion, cant wait to fight them Uruk-Hais in Helms Deep.  :mrgreen:
 
Well, about all progress shown this far is done by me, and Im going to the military for a year in 12 days, so don't expect to see much of my work then :razz:

It's quite inaccurate but still pretty good. I would recommend editing front since there's some weird stretching going on at the front and it doesn't really make sense for that white cloth to be there. What you might want to do is make the black-hemmed-with-gold cloth its own model separate from the white cloth. Make the black cloth a bit thicker so it clearly sits on top of the white cloth and bind it to the same bones that the leg segments use so it doesn't get covered up in the front. Does that make sense? The helmet would also look a lot more distinctive if you added the 3D wings. They're also not supposed to have pauldrons, but it works here since you aren't giving them a cape.

As for a general comment about your Gondorian plate models, there's always been something weird about the leg segments, and I just figured out what it is. If you look at this picture, you can see that there is some overlap between the segments of the upper leg plates. On your meshes, they just barely touch at the edges, so it always kinda looks like the segments are floating rather than riveted together like they should be.

Anyways, Brego, I UV mapped Eowyn's helmet. Shall I send it over to you for texturing? I've been struggling to get the horse emblem mapping right, but it's such a minor detail and I think it's probably good enough as is, but you may want to take another look at it. Once again, I'll send you the un-triangulated mesh.

No , whats happened is Brego wishes to make his own mod, so hes going to leave the team, and im carrying on at my own pace. So if you want to join his mod or stay i have no problem its up to you.

Well, all the progress you've seen will come to use one way or another as if my own mod fails, I'll release it as an OSP for others to use. And it's not like this mod crumbles any more than it did after the launch of the thread, it's just that Ill be moving on to a project of my own, and Ive also offered him to use the stuff I've previewed here depending on how the mod progresses..

Well, considering the extra lot of LOTR mods that have fallen down into the drain, maybe another mod team would eventually take the LOTR OSPs and would have a shorter deadline to achieve before falling into the curse again.  :roll: Who knows, maybe after a series of trial of error, and teams building up their middle earth fantasy, there would be one team that emerge victoriously and break the curse.  :grin:

Still, i'd hope this mod would sustain itself, it looks very pretty.
 
Ive just solved a huge issue i had with blender, it only allowed you to harden/soften faces and not edges, now my workflow i add it to wings 3d and fix it, now modelling low poly is alot easier. Not only that its more warband friendly in my opinon.
But yeh the mod isnt dead, im sure as hell carrying on and if anything im more determined now than ever. Im just going to fix up the main forum page, and sort things out properly in a few days.
