LOTR

This is a multiplayer mod for Warband. The focus will be on skirmishes and possibly major battles in Middle-earth.
It wont be entirely book accurate, and i am using the films by Peter Jackson as a reference mainly because i feel his team, did a bloody good job at depicting middle earth.  As for the books, if you want accuracy, then speak up and mention it, ill always take your opinion into consideration.

-New armors and weapons

Planned Factions
First Release

Help is totally appreciated!
Current needs: Imagery for promotion of mods, i know some people are good at making banners and icons

Please bare with us the mod is currently at the planning stage. This page will be updated as we design the factions.

If you'd like to be part of the team please pm me, or add me on Steam "Nklinx666" or just pm me another way you want me to speak with you.
Coders are welcome a few have already asked to help, currently theres no work for coding but will be soon.
As for 3d artist, concept artists or even texturers, there's alot of work available.

Thank you!  Im going to be working critical things right now, so it may take a bit for an update with pics but, when it does it will hopefully be worth it.

Good luck!

Got a better feeling about this one than the other lotr mods started for some reason! I do got some lotr stuff, but I wouldn't take it if I were you seeing that I have given it to all kinds of lotr mods out there so it won't be anything original, nor is it too good

haha we are determined Brego. Thats the main reason im starting small, no point getting worked up and creating a epic single player mod, just a good multiplayer mod for us all to enjoy, allowing us to focus on making neat factions.

This is a uruk hai model im working on, i will make a high res one to add a normal map, i think the greatest hurdles will be A, texturing it, and B porting it in game, but i know some people will most likely be kind enough to help with that. Hes going to look badass in his dreadlocks, the bald look makes it too Orcish. Im learning as i go, so i can see myself recreating it in future, however for an alpha it'd be good.

For the love of god I need a LoTR mod... I've been waiting for well over 2 years lol.

If you need any help in the coding field, just ask me- I'd be glad to help.

I need to get an idea with what i can ask you to help with. What stuff do you have experience modifying?

All my coding has to due with Multiplayer. Setting Factions, Scripting Troops, scripting in items, etc.

Also, I'm not looking to be the mod's full time coder (though, I could if I found time)- I'm just offering my coding advice if you need some.

Someone sacrifice an orc to bring about Lord Kazzan. If he wanted to, I bet he could really help this mod out with skins and what not.  Only if he wants to of course.

Best of luck with the mod. Only one question. Will the dwarfs be shorter ten humans?
That takes quite a bit of coding work, I believe. But it's been done! Perhaps it's Open Source aswell, I don't know.

Yes your right, its tricky, you know, i could potentially model trolls, Morian orcs with the crooked backs and shorter stature and even dwarves as you say.Infact i really want to.
The issue is getting it to work in the format of warband multiplayer, im not sure how it works but with the Fantasy persistent world mod they had them short goblins i cant remember but i think you had to play as a female or something to get them to appear small as i think the female mesh was the small model and the male the standard sized one. But if your changing only the female and male basemeshes, where does that leave the other factions? that leaves us with making the heads and bodies as wearable items such as armor, but you cant affect the size then, it is only cosmetic.

Meh, theres alot of information on porting custom models as playable that i dont know yet, and its not out of disinterest but the fact i want to make the models first then try get them inside. Thats why im doing Isengard first and say Rohan for a alpha.

You're right. I couldn't remember where I saw the size difference but it was Fantasy Persistent World. There were normal humans and elves with base height, Dwarves and Goblins (had to be a female character) were half the size of the normal models, and there were even gnomes if I remember. They were tiny! I remember we would roleplay that if you played on a Goblin class as a male, you were an Orc because you were basically a human sized goblin. It was very fun, but the only reason it worked was because the game matches were hours long and if you wanted to roleplay a different race, you simply changed characters.
That definitely would not work in a round based multiplayer mod because people don't want to change their character every new match or if they get auto assigned. I believe modding the armors can actually change the visible height of the character, but the base model and hitboxes would not change at all, because it would just be like you were wearing any other armor. What is visible does not affect the hitboxes and base model.

Also, once you get down some more knowing how to change models and what not, Uruk-Hai should be taller than the average Human. Also, it wasn't exactly shown in the movies, but Isengard had different forces than just Uruk-Hai. They had normal Orcs, Men (which WAS shown), and I believe something else, but I can't remember it. ^__^

Well,Isengard had an army mainly of Uruk-Hai.Orcs were fewer, most likely they worked on the pits rather than in the army. And there were the Wildmen of Dunland,as humans in the service of the White Hand.I think it had Trolls and/or Goblins too,but I'm not sure.
