I'm going to play the game as a loyalist guardsmen and kill everyone.

Good luck finding troops that aren't rocking the chaos stars. Although I was considering making a loyalist-ish troop tree option for the player 'kingdom.' You'd miss out on every story quest and the Imperium would probably still consider you a traitor, but why not? There's also the problem of the Chaos Marines preiodically rounding everyone up for a raid on the Imperium. You really don't say no to Chaos Marines. Not if you know what's good for you.

Unrelated question: What's the item/troop limit, including replacable native stuff?

PS: Does anyone know where I can get some tricornes and bicornes? I can't model them worth a damn, for some reason.

There was that Ultramarine book where there was a pair of loyalist guardsmen trapped on an Iron Warriors world with a few loyalist Space Marines. If I remember correctly, the two Guardsmen survived a while, before one of them died, and the other decided to stay behind, as he had a crippled leg.

That story was crap (and imperial propaganda), still, even with plot protection they meet rather harsh end and they had SPACE MARINE support.

So if you like against the odds experience and heroically stupid death, why not ?

While if you want guardsmen, then I'm guessing you should probably join the Blood Pact and you don't have to worship the Chaos gods, but you'll probably end up doing that anyway

wait, what is this...no Sons of Sekk?

I recommend the book "Dead Sky, Black Sun."

It takes place on the Eye of Terror, and describes it decently well.

Call me when Gogol writes a 40k book.

In that vein, I don't actually know anything about these chaos cults beyond what I've picked up from lexicanum and the various 40k tabletops. So if someone could hook me up with the cliffnotes version of the Blood Pact fluff, I'd appreciate it. And anything else, really. Just send me a PM to avoid making this thread look popular, or anything else like that.

Well, Solid Projectile weapons are nearly finished. Is it yet possible to make new classes of weapons with their own ammo? Failing that, I'm probably going to replace muskets with pistols and crossbows with long guns and heavy weapons. I would've liked to have heavy weapons use their own separate skill, but you can't have it all, I guess.

Is there a good guide for how outdoor scenes work? Since I plan on having full auto fire in there, I'm gonna need to fill them with cover, and somehow rework AI so that every battle isn't just decided by who has the most guns. That's going to be a pain in the ass.

Aye, that's gonna be hard, but are bow weapons used? If not you could replace fire bow animation with a heavy weapon one.

Bows are sorcery, and other psychic powers. I changed the skill to use intelligence. It's not the animations so much that are the problem, I've got that all covered. I just would've liked to include different types of ammo for different weapons, and the limited ammo script, so that, for example, even if you get a bolt pistol from a lucky kill, you'd still need to pay out the ass to keep it firing. Guess it wouldn't make sense for your men and enemies to always have ammo, though, so what ever.

So, is it possible to change a player's race/gender through a script? Say, after the proper quest is completed? Also, is it possible to make a throwing weapon that counts as a bow? And what exactly do 'force_attach_right_hand' et al do? If that means you can make pistols left-handed, that would be a good first step in that crazy dual-wielding scheme.

Out of curiosity is that for mutation?

I'd like to do mutation and bionics, but I'm using up the skin limit on the various bodies. It's for potentially allowing players to become Space Marines.

I made some jackets. Nurgle, Khorne and Undivided gear is coming along nicely. Within a week it could be finished. SP weapons are mostly done, I just need to do a proper heavy stubber and texture some pistols. Chainsword is made, needs texturing, I've got shock and power mauls done. Still need to do power weapons, chainaxes, bolt pistols, plasma weapons, regular melee weapons, melta weapons, heavy bolters and a bunch more cybernetic doodads for the head slot, along with all the tzeentch and slaanesh armours. (I've got one slaanesh armour done.) Also gotta do ship rating overalls, heretic slave bondage gear, beastman parts, mutant bodies, fat plague-infected bodies, all the minor daemons, big mutants, tricornes and bicornes, a few more spiky helmets, rocket launchers, lascannons, and I need to texture the small las weapons and the bolter. And make all the scene props. And somehow implement codes to make all the weapons behave as they should. And make a bunch of quests. And rig all the armours. And write dialogue. That's going to be the easy part. Oh, and rework the battle AI.

All things considered, the end is in sight!

Here's an image of the spoos moren implemented into vanilla MnB (not warband.) I mislabeled the hands so they're the wrong way around, the pauldrons bounce around too much and clip with the body and there's some nasty stretching and visible seams on the back legs, some uppity vertices that got themselves attached to the wrong bones, and the head is too high and forward but I'm otherwise quite satisifed.

Sonds very interesting, but very gamechanging.

I think you need more scriptors. I know a good one, but she pirated warband. :/
