SP Fantasy [WB] Carrick: The First Chapter

Normally I don't let me impress much by mods based in an fantasy setting, but this one caught my attention. I guess it's because that the Highlanders look unique without you have had to put all the known colors and heraldic charges on them. And that it's your own fantasy world adds quite a bit of coolness as well.

I have a good feeling about this one.

Thanks for the support guys, I'll be adding more items and units over the weekend, as well as fleshing out some of the lore so people understand what the story is

I think this mod shows some promise. I know what you mean when you say that you want to make it in a fictional yet not too fantastical setting. I myself have done the same thing.
The ability to change and alter the history of your own world is really fun.
I wish you good luck in this endevour.
Also
This handsome devil is a scout
This moustachioed fellow

There's been an update in the Second Post
I'm also going to work on re-organising the posts to be more conducive to reading

Thanks for the interest everyone

Looks well but Carrick isnt really an original name for such mod but thats just name after all.
Yeah, I agree, it was really a spur of the moment name, but I think that it's difficult to come up with an original fantasy name

King Ragnarok 说:
The name sounds good, its just it sounds very much like carrot.
I hadn't thought of that, perhaps they worship carrots?

Update ~ 21st may
And in other news, I added over a hundred new items today, and now the module sys isn't compiling properly... Oh the joys of mod making
and the module system is compiling perfectly!

Any cool mini-factions you'd like to see?
Well perhaps some rebels or uprisings in certain areas. Which the player can help to become bigger.
Good work on the map by the way, looks rather unique.

Sounds like a good idea, one of the concepts I was working on was the enmity between the Lowlanders and the Peasant populace, who hate the over taxation, so maybe there could be a peasant uprising. I was even thinking that this could perhaps come in the form of an expansion, as in the current state of things, you start as a noble, however in the Expansion you could be a peasant revolutionary (via Blood and Steel). I've been rereading some old books recently, and one of the was Hood, which is a fictional interpretation of the possible welsh origins of Robin Hood, and it would be interesting to explore that aspect of peasant guerilla warfare, and could incorporate the scavenge for weapons idea I once had, like searching for sticks and rocks and then later upgrading them with bought or mined iron.
I've put a poll up on the mini-faction idea
We'll see... I think I'll do the next troop tree tonight, and update the others, and then that'll be me gone for a week.

Consider me impressed!  I love the look and you have put alot of work into it.

This mod looks pretty good (I especially like the armours), but I had to laugh at the name! I happen to live in Carrick. It's a district in Cornwall (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrick,_Cornwall).

A little contribution from me, fits well to top of main page.

This mod has caught my eye...Good luck!
For mini-factions I suggest adding a bandit/Highwayman faction which you can help raid villages, towns, etc for rewards but decreases relation with the town/village
Its just a suggestion so I understand if you can't do it

Hmm,you say you were inspired by A Game of Thrones TV series.Well, here's a bit info about the world factions in general:
There are 8 Lords that rule:
-Lord Robb Stark rules the Northlands:The Northlands are somewhat based at the Celtic/Norse culture.Their color is white/very light grey.
-Lord Tywin Lannister/King Joffrey rule the Westerlands:To me,the Lannisters are somehow based on the medieval England, with their predominant red colour.
-King Stannis Baratheon is self-proclaimed king.He rules the Stormlands and Dragonstone. To me Baratheons are similiar to Saxons.Their color is yellow.
-Lord Mace Tyrell is the ruler of the Reach. The men of the reach to me are somehow similiar to Arthurian England with their delicate and joyous style of living.Their color is green.
-Lord Doran Martell is the Prince of Dorne.Dornis are based on the Arabians/Saracens.Their color is orange.
-Lord Hoster Tully is the Lord of the Riverlands. To me,Riverlanders are similiar to the Normans.Their colors are blue and red.
-Lady Lysa Arryn is the Lady of the Vale.Men of the vale to me are somehow similiar to medieval germany.Their color is light blue.
-Balon Greyjoy is the lord of the Iron Islands and House Greyjoys.Greyjoy Ironmen to me are similiar to the vikings with alot of heavy leather, ring mails and banded armors.Their color is dark gray/black.
