Wait, you're talking about the Freedom Fighter faction right?
I like the idea of runaway slave and musketeer n such, but meant but wouldn't it be a bit racist if the regular hat do you mean by like melee soldier? Like find a name or....
And i don't know if this is what you mean but wouldn't it be a bit racist if we had the black guys as standard soldiers and white guys as more advanced? (Probably not what you meant but just making sure)
Well I guess i could change my TT a bit.....
 
Wait, you might be on to something actually.....
I like the idea of having like a 'scavenged' weapon n such, but id rather have names that you know right off the bat that they are for against slavery, say : Instead of Militia, you could have Liberator Militia... I don't know...

By the way:::: How would I be able to add in a way that you can equip regular soldiers with looted weaponry? It might be kinda OP but like if you have a sucky gun it can be equipped by a militia but not a masterwork gun n such.
 
Let's take the musket for example,, the standard musket will be used by the "Opressors" and the Slave Rebellion will used the same muskets, but with lower damage, called "Looted Musket", a looted plate armor will give less protection, but no need to make them nude and only use armor when you win a battle. Just make the looted items as normal items, but with lower quality and with the name "Looted".
 
Yeah, so basically ad the name 'Looted' or 'Scavenged' or something to a weapon? Good idea, but now i just have to figure out how to add the 19th century weapon pack i downloaded to the troop editor :3.

Hmmm, I saw you found out about thr 19th century Firearms OSP. A very good pack, you will like it. Also,(I think, not 100% sure) that Shredzorz released the Age of False Innocence as OSP(?). In there you'll find a ton of useful stuff, like firearms, swords, uniforms etc. But better check it first, to be sure it's open source.

I found out how to use OSPs, so ima keep on with the modding.

To do- Add !9th century firearms, map of america, so axes n such....
 
Hi, this is an interesting idea. I think you should should change the names of the troops. I think you should take the name of slave out of troop tree after the first upgrate. You should think that after they have escaped or whatever they should get their training and not be slaves anymore.

Runaway or Runaway Slave -> Armed Slave -> Freeman Militia -> Freeman Regular -> Freeman Veteran -> Freeman Hero
                                -> Freeman Huntsman -> Freeman Outlaw -> Freeman Pirate

Also their is a lot of history about the slave moment, Preachers where one of the main leaders in this. If you have a Freedom Fighter group you should just make it like an good outlaw type(not a faction) or group that helps the slaves and attack bad outlaw type groups (Lynch Mob) or whatever your going to call them. I think Abolitionist fighters would be a better name.


The Abolitionist Fighters . So the troop tree:
Abolitionist Militia -> Abolitionist Soldier -> Abolitionist Veteran -> Liberator (Mounted) -> Preacher (Like a John Brown)

You should change the idea of how the game is played if you the Slave Faction, the whole idea was to escape to the north if you where a slave. The whole idea of a Slave Faction should be to escape North and destroy Slavery. As they move to the North they should be raiding & freeing slaves and growing in numbers. I think you should have a map of the different Factions with Faction Towns & Villages. Then have neutral Towns and Villages spread out everywhere that are either Pro-Slavery or Anti-Slavery. I think the Slave Faction should be a Abolitionist Moment faction. I just started reading this today about you game, lots of thinking should go into this about game play. Like missions of taking runaways to freedom, like when you move cattle to another village. Good luck, hope this gives you so things to think about.
 
That's simple, just read the damn of the first page, there are no "slaver faction" or "The Slavers", the slavers are from famiilies, (Dunken Family...)
 
This mod is really off to a bad start:

I cant figure out how to add OSP items (YES, i did check the tutorials and tried the stuff, but cant get it to work)
Am the only guy on the team......

I think im starting off too big, and i should start off making a smaller mod rather than starting on a big scale mod like this one (and then later when im more experienced, reviving this one).....
If things keep going this way i might not continue, but ill try my best to keep it going and try to add them's items.

Ill keep your ideas in mind, but some things Warhorse you suggested might need quite a bit of coding (If I understand well, some sort of campaign mod?) and i wouldnt be good enough to do it. I would love to have a campaign mod, but like i said, would be too much.
 
Try out small, don't know to much about modding. I think it would be better to have an Abolitionist Slave Revolt faction and not a slave faction. The more I think of this the less it makes sense in normal M&B Warband game play, where there are different factions that fight over territory. I say this because of a historical view of slave revolts, where slaves would revolt for freedom and go somewhere they would be safe. Like the slaves fleeing to the North, Spartacus trying to flee Roman Empire.

I think you should either choose a setting from "Bleeding Kansas" where Pro and Anti Slavery forces battled or like in Haiti. Haiti has a background where you could have French, British, Spanish, Rebellion faction and even a African Slave faction. In the "Bleeding Kansas" theme it was mainly the two factions, but you could make some thing up like Pro Slave, Anti Slave which was for the USA as a state. But maybe have a separate faction for a new country, maybe a Native American faction.   
 
Yeah, I'm gonna change it from Slaves o something else, but in general, its already Anti vs Pro slavery.....
 
It occurred to me that perhaps the rebels would perhaps lack bayonets and instead have a line of pikemen. I remember reading something about pike regiments used by the Confederates, although these were never deployed on the battlefield, so perhaps the rebels could try something similar? They would otherwise lack an anti cavalry measure if they don't have bayonets.
They could also use earlier firearms, such as matchlocks and wheelocks, having looted them from museums out of desperation.
 
Maybe there could be some religious/spiritual people because there was a lot of hoodoo stuff involved with the slaves.
Also i cant help think that Adewale from AC4 would be great in this mod.
