There are some plate armors, not much really, that I reserve mainly for the Lords and top tier noble troops:

I wonder where these models are coming from (the plated horses) :

It seems that everyone are using them, but I can't find their credits anywhere.
I find them very suitable for the heavy French cavalry (it's the 15th century after all) ...

Thanks for the offers but I'm still on the fence on full plate barding for the horses as it appears to me it's more of a mid to late 15th century addition or that it's not yet very popular. I think the main combination for heavier horse armor is chanfron + crinière + barding (possibly over mail as well).

I'll read more on the subject to be sure and soon enough I'll start working on the knights. There's always room for revision in future updates if I miss or do something wrong

@Seek n Destroy
Yes the full plated chargers are more of mid-late 15th century. In the OSP - Horse Mods theard, there is the Long Caparisoned Horses 3.5 pack that contain some models those are very similar to late 14th - early 15th century type of horse armor, but it will be hell of alot retexturing to do, would be the best if someone could make a heraldic texture for them. I tried but it just doesn't work, much harder than making heraldic texture for armor  :???:
@fladin
Those are from Full Invasion 2 if I remember correctly ?

So not an OSP ? ok  :???:
I think heraldic horses are impossible to do without the WSE help, so you have to re-texture them manually.

They are not fit for the timeline of 1429 La Guerre de Cent Ans anyway, but people would love to see them in Tohlobaria
WSE hm? Absolutely blinded in coding here so not much of help I can offer  :dead:

I sent some new files about Raptor's swords to Khamu, some time ago. Nothing too great, but a bit better than the photos. Also, normalmaps and speculars. Also also, I am working on updating the old 15th century plate armor OSP and the Late Medieval Helmets mady by thick. If you guys want them, I can upload them. They fit the era and some are used by the mod already.

EDIT:

Probably not, but the team are generally great guys. Wherever I asked USnavy anything, mod or not related, he was always kind and patient.

Oh yes! upload them please, I'm working on a project that turns 1257 AD into the mid 15th century, probably 1457 AD, partly focus on the Thirteen Years' War, but the lack of 3d contents is leading me closely to cancel the project. Your contents would be a big help, thank you!

Kham didn't send them to me as far as I can recall but I found that Xenoargh made specular and normalmaps for them in Blood & Steel which is OSP so I'm using those. If it's better than the current ones that would be nice. I'm interested about the other stuff, I didn't use Thick's late medieval helmets because they lacked detail and would clash visually with the ones included in the mod, if you improve them that's great
What I've been looking for is a decent quality bascinet like in Narf's OSP but without the mail aventail so I can use it in combination with hoods and padding. All the ones I found didn't look too great. My attempt is pretty mediocre and would need new faces and some UV mapping changes:

The whole mod will be LSP (non-commercial license kind) so if there's something you like from the mod go ahead. I'll probably release some of the stuff I made on the side (as in, a thread on the forge) for better exposition.

You are right, those are likely from the 16th century, I meant using some parts of these models/armors  (my favorite activity) ...

I thought I'd ask, but I didn't dare :ohdear: I ended up  tinkering some -horrible looking- "carapaces" for my horses, but I would have liked to play with the pros models.

Looks great, need only to hide those "mail attaches" or whatever it is.
Edit: you inspired me to made a bascinet with cloth coif

I agree with fladin, your bascinet is great.

I will, soon as I finish them. Your project sounds REALLY interesting, can't wait to see it through.

Eh, xenoargh's files are better, no doubt about it, he's pretty talented. Still, I'd say try my diffuse, it's a step(ONLY one step, tho ) above photo textures.

Thank you! The project is in its very early stage, I'm slowly digging through the internet and gathering any 3d resource I can that fit the timeline. My plan:
- Redo the map using the base map of 1257 AD.
- Mid 15th century historical accurate factions.
- New Troop trees for each culture, some iconic factions will have their own troop tree: Teutonic Order, House of Lancaster, House of York, ....
- Replace most of the outdated armors, weapons, horses to fit the timeline and ofcouse add firearms.
- No plan for cannons yet, but some mod did it, so I believe there is a way.
- New combat animations similar to 1429 Steel edition.
- Ability to start a new game as faction leaders or vassals.
- Ability to build manor and castle will be kept, increase castle bulding time, max number of castles can be build now is 3.
- Remove every crusading abilities.
- No plan for new scenes yet.
- Finally a long, boring process of editing and adding historical accurate lords and their banners.

That's better than what I could hope to achieve, nice work!
I've noticed that in Tohlobaria (0.6) you make extensive use of multimesh items (and creatively so) which leaves a lot of duplicate models and lods. For 1429 I assign multimeshes and material changes through code to avoid having lot of duplicate models and lods, it's not as intuitive when checking resources but can save a lot of brf space in the end. Paired with Kham's customization system (based on Somebody's OSP) I've been able to make a lot of armor variants without having massive cascades of objects. I've got 126 possible combinations of Narf's Brigandine so far

Picture Diffuse me interested then

Good luck with your project, I don't envy you though as this sounds like a lot of work. Just 4 factions are keeping me really busy I don't want to imagine all of Europe.
