Okay bug recap: new version:

-No conversation option with pope about crusade

-Cavalry are listed as archers in siege battles

-Building ladders in sieges and then trying to wait a day, results in spam of message "wait a day." 

Just a thought here, but javelins are very very ineffective against shields. It renders them sort of useless in battles if they don't have that advantage over arrows.

(the ones with the strong armor) when i ask my Lord i can only switch Divisions that are at the bottom of the Teutonic tree such as German Burgher Crossbowman,Teutonic Turcopole,Baltic Villager. or can't you get these classes because of Balance? or do i need Renown? mine is at 376.
And i retired as freelancer from my Lord to see if i could enlist somewhere else but is it normal that i can't enlist anywhere anymore?

Sorry for late repliment but i think if u retire and then enlist to another lord it would be fixed(if you have enough renown and stats)
 
I did a fresh & clean install of 2.8 yesterday. After enlisting as a freelancer for a lord, IF you take a short leave of absence, or if you are captured, there is no longer the option to return to the service of the lord you had enlisted with. This was also a persistent issue in 2.7. In my 2.8 game yesterday, if i were captured, or took a short leave of absence? The only option available was "are you looking to hire mercenaries?", or, to "retire from service"... After I retire, take a leave of absence or get captured, the option to enlist as a freelancer is no longer available anywhere for any kingdom or lord. The Freelancer dialogue menu options worked perfectly in 2.6. Thanks again for your time and hard work all of you. Have a superb weekend! Best regards.

Ps. Ritterbruder Frederick aka "Random End", has no armour or items. Day 1 asks me to appoint a new minister (as mentioned in a previous post). Norway and Scotland provoking all kingdoms at game start is still occurring since 2.6. Bishop Heinrich Osel-Wiek no helm. My apologies if you guys are already aware of these issues.

Pss. I fixed all the poor kneeless people walking around giving them proper hosiery :grin:

I wish there was another option for 4 tiers of soldiers instead of 3. Difficult to have archers and crossbowman, one has an either or choice in this direction.

I am, at this point, unable to edit my custom archers proficiencies, it is stuck and won't let me substitute crossbow proficiency. 

Anyone else getting crashes in the custom soldiers screen? I have to save and exit each time I edit a troop, textures turn black and game hangs up. Strange, because I never have this issue with Perisno textures even with maxed graphic settings. I have a 3,000 $ gaming rig, so it is not that.

Thank you all for the bug reports. Not enough time to play the game, fixing bugs and testing is very time consuming. Please when reporting a bug be as much specific as possible.
Example:
-Cavalry are listed as archers in siege battles
I was testing a crusade and in the siege assault I was able to give orders to archers and cavalry with number 2 and 3 keys. They were acting normally.

I was testing a crusade and in the siege assault I was able to give orders to archers and cavalry with number 2 and 3 keys. They were acting normally.

My mistake, I have other mods that have cavalry listed as infantry in siege battles, I thought that this mod's "when cavalry men lose their horse they are switched to infantry" applied in siege battles. 
 
Some clarifications:

For the crusade option to appear, all of those need to be true:

1. Papacy faction must be active
2. Pope must not be captive
3. Your faction religion must be catholic
4. Your relation with the pope must be 0 or greater
5. There must not be a crusade active
6. You need to own at least 1 fief


For the garrison option to appear (one of these):

1. Player needs to be the fief lord
2. Fief is unnasigned and part of the faction that the player is in
3. Player captured the fief and requested it to the king
4. Fief is unnasigned and part of the faction that the player is in and has 0 men in garrison
5. Player is married to the owner of the fief


 
Got crusade option to appear with the above conditions met, asked about Mamluk, then got this message which I was unable to select anything and had to close the game. A few of the selected options produce no dialog. Started as adventurer. Thanks again.  :grin:

Upgraded a manor to a fortified manor, I then got the option to select "crap" as a fief to give someone. menu bug, I selected it (LOL) :grin: :grin: and it doesn't exist. pic below. The new castle (fortified Inverness manor) was spawned in the sea off the coast, that has been an issue for years in 1257.  :cool:

The option to build a manor is present in Inverness, but there is already an option to upgrade the manor to fortified. I should not be able to invest in a regional manor if the option to upgrade it to a fortified manor is also present. It is presenting the fortified manor upgrade before I have built the manor.  This is bugged and is confusing to report with clarity. 

The option to assassinate yourself is available in the constable menu. 

Not sure if this is right, investing in property seems a bit not worth it. Has been like this for over 100 in game days:

Also, I took a castle from Portugal with my created faction, after the battle it asked me to clear the last stragglers and I did. Then I was taken back to the build siege tower menu as if I had fought no battle.

Sorry crusade dialog is fixed in next version, not released yet.
When I played 1257Ad I never upgraded to castle because I had the feeling it was bugged. Strange things may happen with strings.
At the moment there are more problems in the enhanced version due to player being king of player supporters (new code: civil wars, lords deaths and creation)
From my experience in other mods, invest in towns with population near 30000 and don't buy more than 100 acres to make a profit. This is the code from banks and land owners.
Yes the text bug is ugly but the code to assign fiefs works. At least the game selected the right string: crap!!! in the middle of the sea  :eek:

Thank you stevehoos this report was excellent. :ohdear: My comment was not a pun, some bug reports are vague and you never know if you caught the right meaning.
 
I wanna ask a question. When you create your own faction why ther spawning custom Lord and how to edit them they look naked without gear and also if I give my companion a fief they will dissapear.... any solution? please tell.me how to edit or maybe set the custom.lord name and gear

It is probably because the code to create new lords triggers when they are under a minimum number, and the new naked lords will be fixed in the next version. If it is possible post a screenshot of the new lords in your kingdom so we can get an idea of the bugs, or tell us if all of them have the same name. About the companions I don't know if they were specialists maybe you shouldn't make them lords, if they were nobles is another matter.
 
Not sure what is going on with javelins, but I can't hit someone (consistently) standing a foot in front of me with the target right on them, the accuracy is way off.  :grin:
 
I have noticed that Ilkhanate fiefs in Asia Minor (Turkey) are spawning "Mongolian tribesmen", which rustled my jimmies. Asia Minor was invaded by the Mongol Empire in 1243 but that was mainly for tribute/plundering and the Turkish ruling family acted as Mongol vassals until 1277. Beyond that, those territories (especially cities) were never permanently inhabited by Mongolians.

Some Ilkhanate cities in regular AD 1257 had customised Anatolian/Turkish troops. Maybe they can be used in the next update?

Yes, you are right about this and we will discuss the possible solutions on this.
 
Hi, I have been playing several weeks and this is a great mod.

I have two questions:
- Is option "Spear Bracing" automatic? In other mods there is a key. I've tried F5 / F7 / B but I do not see any difference in my infantry.
- I've tried to start as a monarch. I have the option to create my custom troop tree, but I can't change the culture of the towns. Is it possible to change the culture?

Thrown weapons reviewed, only jarids had worse accuracy.
Are the custom created lords supposed to ask you before they become a vassal? They are showing up in my castles as part of my faction before I know.
I think only the lords coming from other factions show up in your throne room to ask to join.

I think you can change culture of your kingdom, talk to your minister or one of the other staff members.
When in doubt search the old 1257 thread, remember some features or bugs are still from the original mod, be ready if there are no animations for bracing spears, or if your horse suddenly dies when galloping near a spearman. I played the mod years ago and now I'm  only helping. I don't know well most of the new amazing features.

I have tried several kingdoms (starting as monarch). With Republic of Genoa I can't change the culture (Town -> Manage this town -> Change this fief's culture -> Only "Go back) but with the Kingdom of Navarre I had the option.

It seems that depending on the country / culture I can do it.

I tested the bracing and you are right, it's not working.
Start as king of Geneva, go to capital, recruit one companion or noble, go to the castle and replace minister with him, tab out and back to the castle, talk to your new minister change culture to the one you want. Now in the town menu you can choose between your old culture and your new culture for that fief. Probably it seemed you couldn't because you can only choose from a pool of cultures known to your character and in the beginning there was only one.
 
Amazing work thank you. Just want to report something.  After took a short leave during freelance, the only option is retirement and can't enlist any lord after retirement.
