Wasn't the refactor supposed to speed up development?

I know they had the code refactor for a while with promises it would speed up development. Which honestly makes sense, but now patches are slower and smaller than ever.

What happened?

I believe what callum said was that development would return to a normal pace after refactoring. Pretty sure we can expect development to stay at this speed if tw track record shows anything

Lets see what happens with 1.5.6 it is supposed to be a very large update with atleast one new working feature

What if I told you this is a faster speed, but instead of being “faster” it’s just not going to take even longer. So technically faster than what it would have been

regardless it’s still slow, although to be fair this update should have the first real new content

Ah so super slow is just normal pace?

It's crazy what modders can create in 1/10th of the time

The beta branch will include content that has gone through our internal testing and will be exposed to public testers for at least one week. During this period, we will address discovered issues with hotfixes. Our goal is a weekly cycle where we push our internal version to the beta and the prior beta version to the main Steam build. However, if serious challenges arise, we may delay an update until those issues have been addressed.

The alpha branch will include content that is untested. It is intended for players, modders and explorers that wish to be as close to development as possible - even at the cost of stability. Our goal is to update it daily with our latest development branch.

People have been saying this all year, that "the next patch" will be bigger or whatever, but every time it's underwhelming. If the refactor actually sped up development we would be seeing the effects by now.

True! I feel like somethings are really on low pace. I just hope for myself that 1.5.6 will become a bigger patch and bring more new content to the game instead of the last months! The good thing we know is that they are fixing snowballing and are getting new content with those awesome rebellions.
I just hope that next year Bannerlord will give a overall better experience and adds more content into the game before going out of early access.

I have to give props to them for fixing so many bugs.

Remember that "big mp update" that was coming right after the refactoring? Seems like we've gotten a hot fixes worth of content this whole Ea/beta

"Nov 13, 2020

I want to give some information about upcoming developments about snowballing problem. All these developments are already done and will be ready at 1.5.6"

I hurts me in places I can't find in the anatomy book. Fixes have been ready for a month just sitting on the shelf.
