Just found these things, they look pretty awesome, it's a sort of sci-fi, steam punk imperialist setting.

Finished the M13/40:

Because this tank is supposed to be quite new and in good condition I applied only a little weathering on it (with a paintbrush), which unfortunately doesn't seem to be visible on this photo.
Also I haven't found any suitable bases for sale yet (and I'm too inexperienced to build one from scratch), so I just put it in my backyard for this picture.

Long ago i was a rather good WRG6th player, my main army was a 25mm Tibetan army i still have it btw.
I was a huge horse archer fan. Tibetans, Mongols, Seljuks, Sarmates, Scythes etc. even if those armie where not always confortable on a small table..

The first wargame i have played was Austerlitz by JP Defieux, but i have played almost all SPI, Yakinto, AH wargames.

Since 1995 i am playing Steel Panthers, and since the last 10 years with a Norvegian friend, the only one i trust and i respect, never discouraged after being defeated so many times. he is playing much better today.

I guess all WH40k fans are monitoring this thread so I'll post it here:

Does the Emperor really love you?

In other news, FFG and GW are parting ways. Information may be found on the FFG website, it's not very surprising at all to be honest. FFG are killing it in the game with their X-Wing series and are about to launch their own tabletop fantasy game. Whilst the loss of some excellent card games and RPG systems are at hand, I don't think it's too much of an issue when both companies have generally outgrown one another. GW have recently, within the past year, begun to turn themselves around in a pleasing manner - I think it's a positive on all accounts, to be honest.

I think that their laissez faire attitude to their IP has been pretty successful, plenty of great games and new fans have come out of that.

Gaunt is a mix of Commissar and guardsman and a dash of Emperor
Not to mention he's a regular slayer of ***** and owns a set of steely balls.

I ordered the first Ciaphas Cain book set from Ebay a few days ago, I hear they're pretty great. Still have about three books left from the Gaunt series. Eisenhorn and Ravenor are apparently good too.

So I hear, Gaunt's Ghosts has an appropriate amount of comedy in it already. Another interesting thing about Cain is that apparently it takes place in M42, so atleast it advances the timeline even if nothing has changed. At least we know the Emps lives for two thousand years more.

I hope that you just own it instead of starting to read a book series from the middle, because that would be heresy.

I had no idea it was in the middle, I just bought it on a whim when I was younger because "Oooh, 40k."

That's not how it works temu

Current official lore is sorta hanging around the  year 40999, the very end of m41. Cain take place in the first few years of m42, so its only a few years difference

Oh, you're right. Somehow I just thought that since it's called 40k and it mostly takes place in the 41st millennia, it would follow that M42 would take place mostly in the 43rd millennia. Brainfart.

Regardless, it's still the only book that takes place in M42 as far as I know.
