Druidic
Knight

Since last Christmas (Yeah, I was putting up with this for that long) I have been having trouble with Warband, With Fire and Sword, even Caribbean, particularly in the sound at times.
Before I go further, I'll say that the only things that have changed in my computer sound-wise last Christmas was the addition of a Sound Blaster Z sound card and usage of a Sennheiser G4me Zero headset.
But anyways, in Warband, the game's sound tends to glitch whenever I'm on a horse galloping around or sometimes even running in a town. Never on the campaign map or in the menus. The sound will have a very distinct "underwater distortion" noise that interrupts every other sound in the game, and is often panned far to the left or to the right.
I will also say that my attempts to record this sound happening have failed and the recordings play the normal sounds in-game as if nothing happened. So, I'm suspecting it's something to do with audio output devices. However, both my speakers and my headset play this bug, so I'm thinking it's not a problem with a specific device, but rather the Sound Blaster Z sound card. Sometimes the sound has even cut out completely on me while playing Warband shortly after a sound glitch occurred, but affected the entire computer, so likely the sound card is at fault.
However, here's the catch. The glitch never happens when playing non-Mount and Blade games. Not even when listening to music, on any device. Every other game has great audio, no glitches or cut-outs. This really confuses me, to say the least.
So, any advice? I'll try checking and adjusting my sound card if need be, but the fact that it's specific to Mount and Blade-related games is puzzling to me.
