I was about to buy this when I read that it now has SecurRom's type of Phone home crap like EA uses. It may not be SecureRom but still something I am against and I can’t buy this game if I can’t take it home and play it without activating it online. I have no problem with Stardock approach of registering it to get patches but to activate it on line is BS IMO. Sorry if this is true another game shot down by over protection... I am not a secursteam fan and dont like to have to keep upating a little program on my pc every so often to see if I am still running the ssame legal game I already regestered with them absolute stupidity. Is this protection anything or in any way liek any of the above?

Idk how it is with retail version but I downloaded the game after I bought it from here and I dont have anything asking if my copies legit all the time.

I'm a strong advocate against DRM, but the protection Taleworlds put on it is absolutely minimal. It does NOT include secuROM, nor anything nearly related to secuROM. It does require online activation on installation, and well if you're on the forums right now, you can activate it. It does not require you to be online everytime you boot the game; it does not sell your personal info to taleworlds or other companies; and it does not install a rootkit and take away your administrative rights on your own computer. Once you install the game, and do the one time activation, taleworlds will not perform a serial check again.

The place where you got your information from is incorrect

you only need to conect online for the intial activation, after that there's nothing thats should be bothersome online. unless it's olo owning you in the face

thanks for posting with a reasonable concern that wasn't full of mindless whinning. Thats what most recruit posts are.
