Hi,
as some of you might probably already have played the "new animations mod" for the classical Mount & Blade, I've now converted it for Warband as well.

I opened this new thread, because the previous one (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,76185.0.html) contains a lot of discussion about modding problems etc. that can frighten of new readers from the beginning

So, to make it short: New Animations Mod (0.4) is now downloadable here: http://www.mbrepository.com/file.php?id=1935

You can see a demo video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AjziCpw6AE

As none of my friends plays warband, I was not yet able to test it in multiplayer, but it should work.

If you have questions or suggestions for enhancing it - post it

A question: Is it possible to make separate bow "reloading" animation for different types of quivers?

you mean the quivers once the back and the ones on the hip, right?
Hu... I don't know. Doing the animations themselves yes, but assigning them to the actually used quiver?
I guess that would be hard...

It all seems a bit too 'robotic' for my liking.

Yeah, they are handmade
If I ever get a motion capture equipment, I will let you know

Ok, other question. Way of holding weapons in hand. How can I (easily?) change that?
For example lances on horseback.
I would like to hold my lance/spear this way:

Both when I'm moving and I hold ground. How to do it?

Well, you will have to create a new animation or modify the existing one.
In my sig you can find a tutorial how to do so...

Is this the third animations mod already for Warband? Wow, imagine if we combine all three...

In my opinion, the animations are slightly too slow, I mean, its great, but some of them look unnatural. I hope you keep this mod going, good progress.

They remind me of lightsaber combat.

It looks as the its a very fast swing with a too small or non existent follow-through movement. Kind of like the way the way the catapult arm that comes to a dead stop as opposed to a trebuchet which swings back slightly after the main action.

Much Kudos to you dreamterror for making some animations based off actual strikes instead of simply semi-random swinging.

I hope you can figure out the niggles, since this is exactly the sort of mod I've wanted to see for ages.

(Inspired me to reinstall warband just to try them out myself )

EDIT:
My one complaint (though it may just be down to practice) is that I am unable to chamber-block with these animations.  This has the side effect of making the mechanical part of the sword duelling less interesting since I am unable to do a more technically correct counter-cut to both defend myself and attack my opponent (which the chamber-block essentially allows).

Since you ported this straight over from M&B and of course, the original M&B doesn't have this feature it's not odd you missed this, but I am curious if it would be possible to keep the skill rather than luck based chamber mechanic with some compromise on exactly which animations are used.
