I've never came across a program like this which kills the player base in 2 weeks. Great attempt to bring back the community and a great program, It's just not quite going onto IG playing whatever class you like at 11am whilst eating your breakfast. Ultimately this program is accelerating the inevitable death of the warband scene by giving insane waiting queues, only able to find a match at 'peak' times, It's also the same 20 people logging into WBMM with no new faces.

People will disagree for all the wrong reasons because they enjoy the competitive aspect of WBMM or actually believe it's bringing players back to the community. Whilst WBMM was down after the Mynes situation, IG battlegrounds had loads of players, even saw some old AE players come on like Deacon, a lot of new faces too. This will bring a lot of hate but It's very obvious that this program is NOT helping the community.

I am just motivated to play outside of matches because of matchmaking, wouldnt play IG.. its just retarded to have circling and faction based stomps all the time.

I mean you never play IG to win the set, faction stomps happen on WBMM, it's inevitable.

IG still had a competitive aspect, it still had great players old and new, WBMM has the same ol' people with waiting queues, what's there even to like? Hell, I saw better players on IG than I did on WBMM. The idea is great, but for the dwindling warband population it's killing it quicker.

From my experience there'd be 1 good player for every 3 noobs. That's why I'd rarely play IG if there were less than 30 players.

From my experience in WBMM there's no new players, it's the same 30 people who aren't even that good, mainly Turks or Russians. It's tryhard mediocre players wanting to improve when I've seen more improvement on IG than these players playing against other mediocres on WBMM.

I'm pretty sure the entire purpose of this client was to bring back the community, literally the complete opposite is happening.

Going on IG whenever I like with guaranteed 20 players sounds like a good idea to me.

Agreed but was this ever the case in the last what, year and a half? I remember it being an empty server any time after match time, and certainly wasn't populated during the day, outside of the occasional spike it got from a tournament final when people played a bit more or that brief moment MM went down for a period (and IG died well before MM came back).

The purpose of the client was to provide an environment for players that want to enjoy the game in a competitive environment. A large difference between IG_Battlegrounds and WBMM is that WBMM has a fixed amount of players (8v:cool: and a fixed format (2 sets of ft3), while IG_BG has a random amount of players up to 25v25 and an indefinite amount of sets. As such, players are better aware of their goals and teammates in WBMM, as they do not change. On the contrary, IG_BG has a more relaxed atmosphere as the higher openness in terms of goals gives less pressure to perform.

As such, both WBMM and IG_BG have merits and demerits in my eyes and every player is free to choose which one they prefer and this might result in players being split amongst the servers. However, WBMM usually has enough players active to function and it's not our duty to make sure IG_BG receives enough players. If you (Fietta) cannot enjoy IG_BG without having the players on it that prefer to play WBMM, then that is your problem and not the problem of those players or of WBMM.

I doubt it's to do with preference but more to do with the lack of option. People probably believe that their only option to play warband competitive would be to play WBMM. IG_Battlegrounds will never get populated if people don't want to spend 5 minutes sitting in spectator waiting for someone to join for it to then get popular they'd rather sit in a queue for 20 minutes because it's their only option? People just think it's 'Cool' and 'New' rather than digging down to actually find that it's destroying the warband competitive scene, as such, WBMM doesn't get the player base it used to, it might peak at 40, half of which are idle on the client more than actually queueing. I also have to say it's the same people everytime, it's not providing an alternative to playing warband competitive it's providing it as the only option and that's what the aim is. If you removed ELO from WBMM I can almost guarantee no one would want to play it.

You're talking about how it's all to do with being competitive but it's also pot luck on who's on your team, just like on IG. In this case people just get mad and salty on WBMM when a new player joins the scene. WBMM is providing nothing but a 16 slot server where people can play 8v8 but with a client with elo to try and gnaw all the players in (which seems to be a good technique). The only thing that makes WBMM competitive is the strict rules, constant flaming on new/bad players and some crappy elo system which is mainly pot luck. I can guarantee if IG were populated, these players playing WBMM would go to IG as their first option, but people aren't willing to populate IG. Don't change something that was never broken.

couldn't agree more, I just want to have a good time while playing competitively like when hoping on IG, not this program full of tryhards that are just interested in some fake internet points to boost their fragile self-esteem. Man do I miss IG BG

The best thing about this client is that you predominantly play against good players. If you want to kill a bunch of noobs on public servers then you could always go on TG_Arena.

good joke

So you want to play competitively while not tryharding? Werent people tryharding on IG while MM didnt exist? So people playing in IG for KD on maps werent tryharding for fake internet points? Then if you played IG competitively for KD what does that make you in the view of your own logic?

My biggest regret with WBMM is the complete lack of in-game communication. Last few times I checked TS, there was nobody on it and that did lead me to pretty much stop playing this even though I really love it because I am tired of my **** performances which impact my teammates and the match. The only thing which can balance my mechanical ineptitude is being able to give relevant information to my teammates and provide them with a support of some way.

How about we let people play whatever they want to play? if you guys miss igbg so much why don't you play there? if you want competitive environment on ig ( ) you are free to ask your friends to play there with you, maybe that way there will be more actual players there, instead of total noobs. meanwhile people who prefer wbmm will just stay there. also saying that wbmm kills the community is just plain retarded and embarrassing.

The simple option of noobs not joining IG would be to make it whitelisted but IG is all about bringing new players to the scene, that of which WBMM lacks entirely. You were all noobs once, without people improving it's impossible for the scene to be kept alive, IG was the only option where everyone (including great players) can improve. WBMM isn't exactly noob friendly.

People treat WBMM as this idealistic approach to improve the warband scene, not recognising the flaws, as a result continue to play it.

HKP 说:
hello the game is 10 years old why are you still arguing about new players joining in

Because the scene is dying? I mean I don't need to go in detail because you're smart enough to understand why.

the scene is dying because it took ages to get the MM up. If we had that from the start the competetive scene would be bigger. The amount of people starting to play now (in a competetive way) is almost 0. IG or WBMM doesn't matter.

Pretty sure more people had more hours when IG was around. The client came out as the scene was dying I agree, but as I said, it's accelerated the death.

I'm not sure if you're aware but the battle scene was completly dead before WBMM. Even while IG BG was up it was always empty 24 hours a day. WBMM got alot of battle players and competetive players back to the game, and until recently it had 50 people everyday playing. I totally agree that right now it's really annoying to play due to all the russian and turkish retards, I guess that's why alot of people stopped playing (including me). I don't mind people not being super sick since it's open for everyone to sign up but I do not understand why people like Max go courser with great lance and couch into the enemy spawn every round. And the current admin team does nothing. Some polish retard that teamhits everyone in the team for 3 rounds straight gets banned for 4 hours. Beside nomes noone is dealing with all the turkish **** that keep insulting and just troll around.

I'd play if it wasnt a complete and utter troll-fest full of turks and others who don't want to even try to play just want to insult and cause problems acting like its PW or PK or whatever its called. It's just a waste of time atm tbh even mercs is more fun than WBMM atm for me atleast.

Also this. The client based voice chat was awesome. All it needed was the option to mute individuals.
