Hi everyone!
Just wondering whether it is possible to play Warband on Mac OS without Steam. There are direct download links to the Windows version on the TaleWorlds website, and I believe the Windows version on Steam is meant to be a DRM-free download (subject to putting in your serial key). But whatever I try, I can't get the game to work on Mac without Steam being open.
Does anyone have any ideas about this? I'd love to be rid of Steam, and I'm a bit frustrated as I did buy the game directly through the TaleWorlds store (i.e. Avangate) and was thus hoping to get a direct download as opposed to Steam bloatware.
In case it helps, I'm reasonably comfortable with Terminal/the command line, so I will not be put off more technical solutions if need be.
