Warband keeps crashing

Hey,

recently, I have reinstalled Win7 on my laptop, kept all the hardware and the laptop remained unchanged, except I installed a 32-bit version of Win 7, while before I had a 64-bit version.

Unfortunately, after the reinstall I installed Warband and many mods and there is no mod my game wouldn't crash at. Mostly it happens when entering battles or talking to companions, but it really bugs me.

I have tried everything, I have "load textures on demand' turned on, single threading on, DirectX 7, no ragdolls or corpses, medium graphical settings, etc. But no matter the mod, the game always crashes. Sometimes after 10 mins of playing, sometimes after 30 or 60 mins but it's certain it will crash anyway.

Do you have any idea what could be the cause of the crashes? Or even better, do you know any solution?

Thanks

load textures on demand might actually be what's causing it.  especially considering when you say it crashes, of which all those incidences require loading textures.  Try turning it off.

Wow, thanks man!  I was thinking about turning it off, but then all the other mods said crashes may be caused by the button being turned off so I was really clueless. And now it worked, no crash for an hour! Thanks very much, you're my hero

Well, to be honest, after all, it did crash again. It happened after more than an hour, so it's not that bothering, but when I tried to start a Clash of Kings mod with the "Load textures on demand" turned off, it crashed during the loading screen. Is it possible the same hardware I had before and after the reinstallment of Win 7 actually could manage the game properly and now it doesn't?

not impossible but highly unlikely.

What are your computers specs?

For example you mention you have single threading on.  This is for computers that only have a single core CPU.  If it has more than one core, this should absolutely be turned off.

Well, I got a Intel core i3, 2,27 GHz, 4 GB RAM laptop, i guess it's a 4-core processor. I turned Single threading off and again, it seems it helped.

Thanks, If anything changes, I'll write again.

Actually, it was caused by the 32-bit system, because it allowed me to use only 2 GB of my 4GB RAM, which caused crashes while loading a large amount of textures. There's a fix somewhere near the 1257 mod.

That's for the solution. Bye
