Warband Firewall Tutorial
Looking to secure your Warband server against DDoS attacks? So you can find there a automated ddos perventing system. Check out my guide to protecting Warband dedicated servers from ddos attacks. In this guide i am using a Linux server (Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish) and you’ll be working in the command line. But don't worry! I treid to making it easy to follow for everyone.
--> How it works ?
Basicly the attackers sending your warband server a large or too much udp packets and bottleneck your server. We re setting rules for our bandwith and perventing the attacks by limiting the max udp packets by using Suricata.Suricata program only working on Linux servers. Suricata's IPS system is dropping the unwanted udp packets for us using our rules give by us. You can even add more rules if you have things like tcp-udp connections for your VDS.
--> Proof of Concept?
I did a DDoS test with my friend, and the server wasn't affected at all. You can run this for your Native server without any issues.
