Warband Duel Tournament on June 5th! Prizes!

*NOTE* This tournament is for followers of the Twitch streamer Vikerish, so please make sure you stop by twitch.tv/vikerish and follow in order to be eligible.

After following, please be sure to register! There is a registration link on the Twitch channel twitch dot tv slash vikerish

This will be a three category dueling tournament. First, there will be an archery event, followed by a melee combat event, and finishing with a jousting event. Duels for all events will be 1v1, Double Elimination (meaning if you get beat in the first round, you will go to another bracket and still have a chance to win the event). Registration will close at 10 PM CST on June 4th, the day before the tournament. Bracket positions will be randomized (the old fashioned way), and posted on Twitter (twitter.com/vikerish) as soon as possible after registration closing.
Weapon and armor selection will be as follows:
Archery: Any bow or crossbow, any arrow or bolt. Default armor only.
Melee combat: Any weapon, except ranged. Any shield. Default armor only.
Jousting: Any lance and shield. A sword may be used if a participant is dismounted. Default armor only.
Prizes: A $20 Steam Card code will be presented to the winner of each event, for a total of $60 in prizes.
Each individual may only participate in ONE (1) event, unless all bracket positions are not filled by registration closing.
Empty bracket positions will be filled by existing registrants based on preferred event order provided during registration, and time of registration (participants will be selected from earliest registration, to latest).
All partipants must be able to join a Discord server, (you don't have to speak, you only have to hear and follow instructions), and must be following Vikerish on Twitch.

I'm not trying to be a stick in the mud but since no one here has any clue who you are, it's doubtful very many are going to trust you enough to want to enter your tournament.  Frankly it sounds like a lame attempt to gain followers for your Twitch channel.  Had you joined our forum earlier and made some attempt to get to know our members, you likely would have received a better response.  In case you hadn't noticed, we already have a ton of Twitch streamers from among our own members, Bladecast among them.  Our home grown streamers do a great job, not just with the videos but with commentary which makes the videos come to life.  No one is required to register or follow any of our streamers; most of us do so voluntarily.

I have followed his stream for around like a year, its legit he does tons of giveaways.
And i was the one to tell him to post it on the forums if he needed more sign ups

I imagine this is meant to be a 1 day tournament, meaning that you don't have to waste your life scheduling a match for some day at x time, instead if you lose, you should be playing your loser bracket match within the next 5 minutes. I don't see how someone could be dumb enough to actually skip their loser bracket match when they can take the easier route towards the prize they entered the tournament for in the first place.

Its fine, always say what you want. Yeah, I want more follows. I also don't see any serious, dedicated Warband streamers out there (I guess I hadn't noticed the ones you reference, although I look regularly at Warband streams), so I thought it would be nice to be one, and give fans a reliable place to hang with other gamers of equally excellent taste. If none of you guys sign up, then that just means my loyal followers will have a better chance at the prizes, which is perfectly good.

This is not an official tournament, its not very serious, it is just something to do on a Sunday afternoon, and I am putting up my own hard-earned loot to provide an incentive to participate. Sceptics need not apply, thats fine with me. Its not like there is any risk, at all, involved in signing up (if someone is that scared of providing an email address, sign up for a new one. It takes 2 minutes and is free). I'm just short on my brackets and thought I would extend an invite at the hub of M&B community.

So, in summary, this tournament is: 1. Free to participate in, 2. Has good prizes,  3. Should be a good time. I don't see any negatives myself, but then again, I'm pretty laid back and don't worry much. If you come, great! If you don't, makes no difference to me.

Between us, I don't think any of you probably have the capability of taking on my bud Hannibaru, but who knows! Maybe you do, I'll probably never know.

If you are scared to provide an email address, then you really probably don't want to join. This tournament is for brave fighters.

When I concocted this tournament, I wasn't ever planning on posting anything on a forum, but the time is coming, and I don't have enough people, so I am desperately trying to get more registrants. Thanks for the well wishes.

No pressure guys. Just trying to bring people together and have a bit of fun, and get a bit more attention for M&B (and admittedly myself). I honestly thought more people would jump at the chance to be involved in such an event, but I guess M&B people are more scarce than I thought.

I did a tournament with 5 friends and myself, and we did best of 3 matches, which is a system I quite like, however I figured with the scale of the tournament I had envisioned, that would just take too long. I also chose double elimination because it is a video game, and it is easy to make a stupid mistake (or experience a glitch for that matter), and would be a shame to just lose the whole tournament instantly with only 1 match fought.

If it ends up being troublesome, I will do it differently next time.

The comment about brave fighters makes you seem like a jerk, just saying.  And if you thought people would jump at the chance then you just don't know people, just saying.  And if you have never seen any other Warband streams, then you are not really paying attention.  Also, M&B people are plentiful on our forum, maybe they are only scarce where you are.  My comment about joining our forum earlier still stands.  Getting to know our members is the best way to promote your efforts.
