Just wanted to let the POP Devs know how much I am looking forward to the Warband version of this mod
and I wanted to give yall props for what I'm sure is going to be an awesome mod for Warband.

Keep it up gents

Agreed. This mod, ported to Warband, would make for one of the best Warband mods around, if not the best.

Oh, and the multiplayer could be great as well. Just look at all the factions and knight orders you could choose between.

There are more than enough multi-player mods already released and new items and factions would not be enough to keep anyone playing on the server.

I would kill for a Warband conversion!

Sacrifices are not necessary but your first born will do nicely

Did I just say that!   Sorry former kidnapped-and-forced-to-join-Snake-Cult member here, old recruiting habits are hard to break.

Anyways, just make a blank check out to "cash" and that should help take care of things.

You know what, this mod alone is definitely a game I would pay money for (think of it like a m&b expansion or the way the game SHOULD have been made)

Can we make donations??

No, we don't take donations (Edit: Gerhart has spent too much time with the Snake Cult) -  Saxondragon and those of us on the Dev Team did it purely for love of the game, not for money, but thank you anyhow.  What we value is your appreciation of our efforts - that's worth far more than money!

Wait until you see how we are improving Warband in the port of PoP to it - some of the team (coders MadVader and Treebeard) have done some amazing things with the AI and also fixed tons of Warband bugs.  I just fixed the Warband-nerfed cavalry, too, so it is up to the level of PoP V 3.01.  We are also working on armor soak, weapons efficiency, etc. and trying to fix the nasty-looking armor (Gerhart) and weapons by redoing all the shaders, etc. and putting in our own much prettier armor and horses made by Archangel.  We have some new musical compositions that are really good, too, originals for PoP exclusively by forum Players of the mod.

And, of course, the Noldor surprise. . . .

Hmm, does the WB port mean that the normal PoP (MB version) will be put to a halt at some point??
I would be unhappy to see that happen, as i for the moment have no intention to buy Warband.
Glad to be back by the way... it's been too long

it's been a long time without me in spending nights with this great mod, but i'm back with upgraded pc, more tolerant gf and tones of coffee ;] wow... i don't even know wth this warband is, but if porting PoP to this would halt it's development, i would kick someone's (grammar?) ass :>

Warband is the upgraded, standalone version of MB. I has some new feats, and a multiplayer part. The Dev-team are making a version of PoP to Warband, but i hope that it doesn't mean that the normal PoP is being put away

Tricky question and I will answer it as best as I can.

There are not enough resources in terms of programmer/coders to support both versions.  We do not have the ability to support both and conduct parallel development.

Further, with M&B we reached the limit of what the system could support.  It really is not possible to add new features, items, etc as we are so close to the limit of performance breakdown that one more feature would render the game unplayable.

Warband exceeds these limits.. thus for creating new features, and advancing the concept and game of POP.. it only can be done in warband.

In the end we had the option to:
1) Say with M&B POP 3.x and fix small bugs.
2) Port the game to warband and add additional features and fix issues.

We elected to pursue option 2.  Even with this, we are limited in the resources (people and expertise) available to move forward.  We have found many of the items in POP are not graphically displaying properly in Warband due to the new engine.  Each one of the 500+ items has to be addressed and modified.  That takes a great deal of time.  If you know how to do this, and want to facilitate the completion of the new POP version, drop Fawzia a PM.

Best regards,

Saxondragon
