Open Warband (Age of Arthur w/ WSE) Bug: I am everyone's grandfather

Users who are viewing this thread

Hi all. I'm playing Age of Arthur v7.0, running it through Warband Script Extender (latest versions on everything). Whenever I start a game, my character is immediately the grandfather of most important characters in the game (kings, their wives, and claimants just to name a few). I have never had this bug happen to me in any other mod, and even more interestingly, if I run the mod through the native launcher and not WSE, it does not happen. I have reason to believe this is tied to a corrupted save, but I cleaned out my saves in every Warband folder I could find, in addition to reinstalling the mod from scratch. The problem persists. Any help would be appreciated.

It is an issue with the slots, the grandfather slot is holding the default value of 0, which is the player troop id, that's why it's showing as yourself.

They should have a check like (gt, ":ancestor", 0), but wiwithout checking their code it's hard to tell why it's only appearing in WSE2.

Understood. I don't want to tempt fate and link the mods page, but I believe the mod author stopped working on it. FWIW it has a very in-depth family system, with children that can become lords etc. so maybe that is why they played with the grandfather slot.

Is there a way to manually fix this? I'm extremely inept at coding but can figure it out. Or should I just wait and report the issue to the WSE forums and hope for a bugfix.

Unfortunately this appears to be a scripting error inherent to the mod itself and not something that K700 would be able to adjust on their end.

There is the potential you could fix it via text editing, but really the only reliable way to correct the issue would be using the mod's module system (which is doesn't seem Lady Ashwood ever made public) as there are a number of different ways to adjust troop pages.

I loaded up a save, and this seems to be a one-way display error. They appear on your page as grand-children, but you don't appear on any of their pages as their grandfather. It shouldn't affect gameplay.

Yes, I notice that my brother was showing up in my page while using WSE2, but in the normal version you dont have your brother in your page, only you are in his page.
