Every new feature in this patch has something wrong with it. They haven't fixed things wrong with the original maps. They haven't fixed some existing reported bugs, just introduced new ones. Every single .0 patch they release is quickly followed by a .01 with some gamebreaking bugs band-aided. Their release is poor, releasing via steam before dedicated server files, and keeping an outdated webpage. Taleworlds is hiring? Hire some quality control agents for the love of God.

If it wasn't for the community and the mods I think they'd be pan-handling on a freeway somewhere.

TW has given this game a lot more nursing than many other studios would/did indie or not indie, and most of the companies that do give a crap a few months after release, they charge you for it and call it dlc.

Edit: the Module System still 404's though  :sad:. I really want to see the new operations  :twisted:!!!

Seriously? $30 is what I paid for expansions when they were popular, and the multiplayer feature is definitely worth calling it at least an expansion. DLC's are just used to stop game rentals and milk customers (assuming the studio is one of the big, bad ones; DLC can be done properly).

To the developers:

Thanks for the fun you guys provided up till 1.30.

I can't stand the fact that you guys continuously try to balance, when there is nothing wrong with the gameplay. Just because a few people hate kicks, doesn't mean they need to be nerfed. Very few people know how to use them properly and therefore think it's cheap. I know plenty of people who can defend themselves properly against my tactics. Now that kicking is gone, I and a lot of people have lost the respect for the games balance as it was.

I could keep 1.27 or earlier versions on my server but really, steam auto updates and people don't want to play on older servers for fear of fewer people online.

I know the developers and a few forum trolls will just laugh at this post but I feel I have the right to my opinion here as I payed for the game too.

Every game is like this and it's unfortunate that warband does it too. Keep trying to balance a game, rather than adding new content or fixing previous real bugs. So, I'll be looking for a new game to play.
 
Are you sure it's gone? I remember seeing a few operations in the ms to disable kicks in 1.127. Maybe it's a server option?

Nope, the ms link is server 2, while this is server 1.
It's been up for hours.
 
Yeah, it seems the kicking hitboxes have been tightened up.
Doom, please expand on your thoughts.
 
So kick slash is still in it's just more difficult to do? That sounds like exactly what kick needed. Anybody tested if you can still block while kicking? I hope you can't, but that might be a bit too much.
 
Well, during beta kicks had some length to them. Which I agree got kind of out of hand.

They patched it and up to 1.27 you could swing your foot a bit during a kick, which the animation really didn't show but it helped when you wanted to kick into someone moving.

Now as soon as you kick, there is a delay and it basically pauses you in one direction. So you basically can only kick someone coming straight at you. If they are moving side to side, you're screwed and left in the open.

There is a major difference and anyone who knows how to kick properly is pissed.
 
Ah, so you can't aim your kicks anymore. I'll have to play a bit more before I can really judge.
You can still block and kick at the same time, yes.

I don't mean to be an ass and complain. I haven't barked about any changes made to the game so far, I just adapt. It just seems like every game I play, they nurf me out of a playstyle and it just screws me up.

I suppose it's their right as it's their game. I just think it's pretty crappy that a few people who don't know how to use a skill complain about it and then it gets removed. I might as well ***** about arrows because I can't play as an archer. Foot shots under a shield killing you in one hit?? Cmon.

That was already in as of last patch.

There has been some troop tweaking that I noticed, however. Swadian footmen seem to be equipped with the red tourny armor(or something like it) and some Rhodok troops have the green tourny armor. The Swadian footmen now have swords and spears mostly. Swadian crossbowmen now have red gambesons, which I don't think they had before. They also don't have shields, and I don't remmber if they use to.

I might take a look at the troop lists later to see what else has changed, but there do seem to be some pretty big changes to the troops. Swadia also hasn't lost any land in my current game and I'm at least two months or so in. Usually they get dominate by now, so I'm thinking there might have been some other kind of balancing going on.

I've yet to play multiplayer, but this is looking like a pretty good patch to me. I had some loading errors earlier but I suspect that had to do with the fact that I as dicking around with TeakMB right after the patch was released, without realizing it. I assume some of the functions were broken and so crashed the game. Native MB works flawlessly.

Anyone that knew how to use kicking properly in the first place also knew how to outplay others with manual blocking, weapon reach, footwork and situational awareness. Kicks needed readjusting and it was only a matter of time.
