Seriously. Just talk to a lord, and demand for them to surrender or die. The entire faction will start to hate you. Hopefully your faction will declare war on them soon; if not, you can probably fight a one-man war.

On the world map click on the faction button. You can learn all that stuff, or if you hit Q on the keyboard you can see what your current renown status is if you click on the buttons that are displayed. Just play around with Wold map and party stat menus, it is fairly easy once you get the hang of it. You can't join a war faction or team without having at least 160 points of renown or so I have read. So pick a faction that is convenient and rob their caravans and loot their villages until you can get a King to sign you on as a loyalist.mikorn 说:Dude WTF are the teams declaring wars i how do i know that they declare war..
Man, peace is boring... I've had peace for the last year, and I want war! Just hitting caravans and whatever lords who are outside of castles is boring.

Not sure if you can do that, but even if I could, I wouldn't because I trained my character to be a foot soldier already and I put a lot of time into my village and stuff
anyways I got a war now, finally after 780days, got 2 castles and 3 khergit villages. But one thing scares me...they got a lord with 500+ soldiers and I can't get my friends to exit their forts, lazy bastards!

but if you change faction you can still change teams and keep using a foot soldier character. if the village likes you you will still be able to recruit more men than other villages. just because you're not part of the nord kingdom doesn't mean you can't be a nord at heart

Yes, you have to wait till your king declares war, but in the meantime you have to hassle them to death - kill every caravan you see, chase around their castles and towns till they come out to fight you, and generally cause chaos in their ranks. It takes time, and you need to be up there with -100 hatred for a while before it kicks in, but eventually their king will declare war and you can take their castles. In the meantime you get your kill stats and XP up, and your renown goes through the roof, ready to get a few fiefs given to you by your craven king who really doesn't want a fight after all!
