One thing that I would like to see in this game is extended peace times. The AI for this game is too Agressive, declaring war on factions, even while they are at war with another faction. The fact that the AI is so super aggressive limits the players option to take there time establishing themselves and their clan. So if we want to wait for our children to mature and develop our trade. We can't, because the AI is constantly declaring war. This is especially annoying in Sandbox mode, since we only have our character and our spouse. We are unable to wait for our kids to grow up, before we think about creating or joining a kingdom, because of the sheer aggression from the AI.
There needs to be some balance put in place to stop the AI declaring war so often. I was playing as a mercenary for sturgia earlier, and while they where loosing a war with Vladia, they declared war on Battania. There needs to be some restrictions put in place to allow extended play time for our games, especially in Sandbox mode. To allow us time to develop our clan, have kids, let them grow up, gave grand kids, form friendships with lords and no tables, develop our smithing and trade skills, participate in tournaments ect. We are always having to limit ourselves in these areas, especially on console, due to how aggressive the AI is.
There needs to be a system put in place, so that factions cannot declare war while currently at war. There also needs to be a truce period put in place, so that factions cannot declare war on the same faction for at least 2 years. I would also go so far as to suggest that there be 1 year restriction on declaring war again after having declared war. The reason I suggest this is due to the unfair advantage factions like Vladia have from the beginning. Vladia is the only faction that starts with 8 cities, as a result, it starts with a economic advantage as well as a military advantage (due to having T6 cavalry and T6 Crossbow troops). As a result, you see Vladia, quickly conquer the surrounding area in the early stages of the game, and often end up with a power rating of 10-20k as a result. This forces the player to abandon investing in all other aspects of gameplay, just to limit the AI growth before we establish our own kingdom. Even if we choose to join a faction, we are prevented from trully benefiting from the settlements governing system, due to not having enough time to focus on town development because of constant wars started by the AI.
So many times I've played the Campaign and had the game be half finished (because of the AI is so aggressive) before Athean and Faroc even reach the age of 18. So many times I've had to neglect all the aspects of the game that I enjoy (like tournaments, quests and smithing) just to stop Vladia from expanding so much. This has caused me to end up conquering half of Calradia before Faroc is even 18. I'd like to be able to take my time, especially when I'm playing in Sandbox mode.
