Alright could anyone help me out with this? I am actually in college for 3D Modelling, but I haven't actually gotten to the software part of college. Taking all the bull **** classes right now. Anyway, could anyone let me know what kind of FREE modelling/texturing tools I need to use for M&B and maybe where I can get tutorials for them? I would really like to learn how to texture most of all, because I absoloutly HATE the normal plate texture in M&B. Anyway, let me know please!

I'm currently using milkshape 3d, you'll get a 31 days trial. 3dMax is a free program if I'm correct.

You'll get lots of toturials for both modelling and texturing on milkshape3d's homepage, so I recommend going there.

Success with your moddelling and studies, if you need any help at all, you can post or pm me

edit: I'm planning on taking a look to a gaming study myself too, maybe next week  .. How's it like?

Well I just got done with my first semester bro. So all I took was english, math, public speaking, american history, the usual crap I care nothing about (except for the history). So as of now I can not really tell you what it's like.

There IS however, a slightly stripped down free version of 3dsmax called gmax, which is where the confusion might have set in.

I just went to their site to link you to it and it looks like they've stopped offering it only 2 months ago! http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=5562445&siteID=123112

I'd get Milkshape, Wings 3D or Blender and just practice making a few weapons and see what ya come up with. If your gonna use Milkshape, the Extrude tool is your best friend, especially for weapons, so learn to use it and it'll cut your modelling time in half.

I'd get milkshape, and reinstall it every time the trial has expired (works for me  )
It does it all, modelling, texturing, animating you name it.
