Hi comrades in arms.
My in-game name is Julianus_Apostata and I hope some of you know me from the game already.
I am really pleased by the increasing numbers in regiments and overally by the increase of AOFI popularity, however I feel worried about balance between the major sides in the conflict. As we all know 7th prussian regiment have already massive player base.

As I feel concerned about the future events and battles, I dediced to create a dragoon/hussar/whatever regiment on the side of Austria's allies. I want to limit such regiment to a small amount of people, preferably people of virtue and some manners.
Due to plenty of nations already in-game, I've decided to first know the opinion of others and primaly, to know which nation people would prefer to choose from Austria, France Russia, Sweden and so on.

My prefered  are Austrian 13th Dragoner regiment And french Bussy-Lameth Gentlemen Regiment

french regiment would be good for more tight cooperation with 54th regiment d'Ligne against future battles with Prussia and that scottish herring lovers.

The other thing about this regiment is, that we will not ride into battle to overusing the ability to reload pistols while mounted. We will not be creating cantabrian circle around our enemy and firing pistols on them for ages. Our role on battlefield is somewhat different from mongolian archers. We shall use our sabers and swords rather than reloading a pistol like a fag 20x times hoping for a hit. We shall fight like a gentlemen, but that doesn't mean we will be extremely polite to every crap we meet, wearing white gloves as it that would be a trick to be a gentleman and so on . There's no real good manual how to be one, and I am not the jolly one to do any. Ethical combat, no matter if it is struggle of Hetairoi/Knights/Nobles/Plane aces or serfs is  based on personal sense for virtue - for good looking, fair play where personal will for win is substituted by the fair and self-justifying celebration of combat (or truth through it) itself. It's seems to be a flawed problem in modern times, as games are proving, to stop people being a rat, seeking any advantages for a win. Win is a value which quality is commonly based for them only on that statesment "You win! Your team won!", no matter that you have crawled a tunnel full of crap to win it or fired your pistol 12 times( which would be searing hot) while running away. For a lot of us is still unnacceptable to disrespect everything but winning condition..in a damn game.

Been talking about it with a couple people, an organized Dragoon regiment, that behaved realistically, would be a lot of fun.

I vote Spain. Why? No Spanish clans yet to my knowledge.

Did the Lusitanian Dragoons exist during the Seven Year's War? That'd be sweet.

This website says yes: http://flagspot.net/flags/es%5Ercdl.html

And random websites I find in Google searches never lie.

Honestly, I want compact and good looking events and battles. If  sides would be combined from 5 nations with 3-4 players per each nation, it will look like a fancy ball. That's why I voted for France, as France already got decent foot regiment, otherwise I would vote for Austria. I am ashamed that none of us voted for Austria but more likely for ugly russian mounted regiments which were of course aswell cut out from a lot of battles in central Europe. There are about 6 votes for them already! Though, I am quite content with spanish regiments.

No light cav better than the cossack, he is an expert horeman, an annoying son of a ***** and some carried up to 8 pistols which is just...

Okay, Lusitania Dragoons are aswell acceptable.  Decision will be know at Monday 21:00 GMT +1

So far, I am choosing from these regiments:

French Regiment "Commissaire-Général Cavalerie" (Bourbon France)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Commissaire_g%C3%A9n%C3%A9ral_Cavalerie
Bussy-Lameth Gentlemen Regiment (Bourbon France)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Bussy-Lameth_Cavalerie
Austrian Dragoon Regiment "Prince Savoy" (Habsburg Monarchy)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Prinz_Savoyen_Dragoons#Origin_and_History
Lusitanian Dragoon Regiment (Bourbon Spain)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Lusitania_Dragoons#Origin_and_History
Moscow Dragoon Regiment (Russian Empire)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Moscowskiy_Dragoons
Prince Fedorovitch Cuirassiers (Russian Empire)
http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Prince_Fedorovitch_Cuirassiers

But my new favourite is this swedish hussar regiment:
They just kicks ass.

Cossacks are somewhat inferior force in 18. century when compared to other russian mounted regiments. Cossacks were excellent for scouting and reconnaissance duties, but their real potential was found by Russian Empire in 19. century.

Still, I want our regiment to be based on reconstruction  through historical facts and dont make from this brilliant historical mod a pantheon of the most favourite units.
