So how do you get a mod to work cuz all i have is the normal game?

Sigh. This should be in the stickies...

So, you have the file downloaded and placed in the folder modules, under the M&B folder, right?  (There should be a folder called native in the modules folder too).  Then, when you start M&B, and get the splash screen, you should see a dropdown folder at the top of the screen.  Click on it, select the appropriate folder (native is the standard game), then click "play".  The mod will load, instead of the default game.

Edit: A more appropriate title would get help faster, too.

You also have to have the proper software to extract the file.  Many mods use Janus' installation program, which means it will install itself when you download it (Arena Mod, The Last Days Mod, Pirates, to name a few), but even more are zip files.  You must save the file to the modules file then extract it to that file.  To extract a zip file you need winzip.  Just download it then have fun.  If this is incorrect flame me as necessary.

Could you please tell me where I lost you?  You downloaded the file from the apropriate mod, right?  Which mod do you want to play?

Oh Merentha, you're so patient. You should charge money for this...

How come some people just know how to work with mods? Are they subscribed to Mods Monthly magazine? Do they have a personal mod instructor present?
No...they look at their game folders, see dirs called modules or mods or scenarios or something, depending ont he game, look at what they do, and what's in them, then play around with that, while some others don't even bother to read stickies, tutorials, etc...and don't get it even if someone takes time to explain to them individually?

Eeek...good thing I don't work in tech support. I admire those guys.

No, the instant you hit six, regardless of whether you assign your points (and enter the travelmap), your game will quit.  Why not just buy this wonderful game?
