From the description:

Really good depiction of proper HEMA technique in a film dramatization.

Noice. But what was the point of loading the gonne to just shoot a man? Despite the fact that they were easy to use, such weapons were slow to load and not really accurate. Even later matchlock muskets were mostly used in group against massed targets. Wouldn't he have been more useful just trying to help the other guy?

I got the impression from the dude's expressions and actions that he was somewhat mentally stunted and just kind of along for the ride with the bandits.
