Great work Volcom, I enjoyed the stream tonight!
Also, browsing through your video archive I noticed you have something that I've been hoping to see more streamers do for a long time: a match recorded from the perspective of a player particpatinging in it. Really interesting stuff!

Thumbs up!

thanks a lot for the stream
just watching the first set, regarding our name/tag/spelling: the clan name is Aquilae Calradiae, which means "the eagles of calradia" in Latin.
The tag is Aquila_Name. "Aquila" is singular for eagle. The -ae ending is there when it's plural (for eagles; but for Calradia, which is singular, it's there because it's genitive case, similar to Apis Europae).

Well, at least all of us who had Latin agreed on that so we hope it's correct xD (we wanted a German or Latin name because Medieval game!!)

Hey Gubbo!

Always appreciate feedback.

If you like a player's perspective then you should check out LeRoux. He is my mentor and has taught me everything from shooting the apple on someone's head whom is standing against a tree, to supportive crowd control and as aggressive inline archery positions.

While he doesn't strictly have VOD's of matches, his mindset is exactly as in his streams and you might get a good idea of how we do it(him a lot better then me of course).

I would like to do this more if it pleases the viewers, but so far a lot of competitive teams are limited to strategy ideas and do not want to get streamed on practise matches. With this they might feel that their strategy is leaked for the upcoming match. Usually those teams don't even want the free camera (which has absolutely no benefit on good teams). So if I'm benched for a set you might get a tree view or a ceiling.

Thanks, I knew it was Latin but now it makes more sense then my wild guess

Yes, I love LeRoux streams!
He is also the only other streamer that I've seen do a broadcast while playing a match.

It is perfectly understandable that teams might not want their tactics and talk on teamspeak to be exposed on a stream. But I sure appreciate the few occasions that it's been done!

It sounds dangerous to practice shooting apples from people's heads with LeRoux though! Isn't he known for hitting heads and not apples with his arrows?!

OGL doesn't have any real tactics anyway, just stream all of the Castellan trainings, would be nice to at least see you at one again!

Great stream and a good match between Aquila and Heroes&Inq but the highlight is messed up, as is the YouTube VOD. It is only an hour long and doesn't show the whole recording.

I agree . I'd love to do some matches too and will try to join more this week!

Thanks for pointing that out! It's been adjusted correctly now. Enjoy!
And I really think Watly is the mistery guest. Will be watching the Horse and Sword for sure!

For your VODs it would be great if there was an easy way of knowing whether each match was official or not and for which competition.

I have thought about making this but chose not to. All official matches are listed here. If you want to see the streams that I personally did then click on the "Honey spoiler" on my front page.
The official matches have tags in front of the title of the stream, for example [WNL4]. I know this is a side-step and could be resolved very easily but I'm kind of hooked on my current layout. Might change this through out the following weeks...

-------------------------------------------------------------

Tonight(2/11) there were no polls as I wanted a free game on picking the matches myself, which will probably not have turned out to be the highest voted matches.
I'll start off  at 18GMT with ImB vs Legend as I haven't gotten a single stream of either teams --> rare! Additionally there will be a live music performance so tune in!

At 19BST I will try to follow up with the match HITMEN vs DM. Possibly will miss some of the action if my earlier stream runs longer then an hour. If this match is already halfway before I get there then it will be cancelled.

It's sad to will not be able to watch tonight. I really wonder what is that live music!

Update!

After yesterday's incident where people randomly joined the official WNL match and disrupting my stream as joke I have made a big decision.
It shows me some ground proof feedback of how much my streams are appreciated and thus I will cut back drastically on the hours I do this until I feel that measures are made to prevent this kind of action.

I feel that some teams are in it for the win and want to play the match without disturbance. I do not want to promote children to act foolish to have a 5 second fame and hereby feel that the lack of a streamer might put a little more comfort among teams.

I would love to hear your opinion about this choice I made and hopefully some alternative answers will come out which would make me resume a passion I have grown so far...
