I played couple minutes ago skirmish versus premaded team, which used comunicators. My random team have no chance against enemy. You can probably think that our team was bad and thats was the key of lost match, but when low health infantry soldier aborted fight with me and called for help from friends archers and then I was wiped out from 2 directions imidietly without eny chance against them, I went depress. The teamplay from enemy side was amazing, I don't have nothing to these guys, they had done what I would if my friends would get also beta invite.

I know that VoIP is planned but I want to explain that it is needed quickly. I have played a lot of skirmishes and captain battles like a lot of people on the forum. But some of You, probably haven't played yet against 5 players in team with comunication and what's more, skill.
There is no point with playing against premaded team while your random players team have only text chat, isn't is ? All competetive type players will understand me.

So there is my request to the Developers Team. Please, add VoIP chat to the beta as fast as possible. I know that this is very complicated thing but let beta testers to try this new addition before early access start, becuase in my opinion it is very important thing and this shouldn't be bugged in early access version.
Yours faithfully "Enter" from polish community.
Very sorry for bad english.

I think proximity VOIP will set this game apart from so many other games. Think of the potential with mods and proximity voip!

Agreed. I've played with a few pre-made groups and tend to forget to communicate with randoms on the team about the strategy since we speak on TS, and since I need to prioritize doing other stuff with my hands. I'd consider things like punishment for leaving match-made rounds and VOIP necessary prior to launch of a competitive game mode. I can only speculate what would happen if not, but serious players are likely going to be annoyed if players leave all the time as soon as it goes bad, and being stacked against pre-made groups, in addition being forced to text with team-mates aren't going to improve the fun.

proximity VOIP would be perfect for this game and i can already imagine the Calradic campaign using it, would be awesome!
Just have the usual mute/report abusive players button and you are set, works flawlessly.

For RP stuff, definitely. But not in matchmaking modes, since proper premades will still have that advantage.

Unless I misunderstood, why not? Other than chemistry, premade teams arent automatically more skilled than you or your teammates.

There have been made many threads about this subject before, and the devs confirmed that this feature will be implemented sooner or later, however details such as functionality (whether it can be proximity based or which modes it supports) have not been revealed.
I agree that VoIP is essential for better player interaction and role playing viability.

Don't take it personally but You just don't understand the topic. Communication is the key to success in any team game. Matchmaking just requires it and stating that it is not advisable is simply ignorance. CS:GO, R6 and many many other games have VoIP. Whether players use it properly or not is another matter. My goal is to realize that on the last straight to EA, this element is simply required. Previous threads only suggested the possible advantages of this solution. I urge to make this solution a priority to be able to test it before EA, to save from disappointment, a new and less forgiving community from possible problems with voice chat introduced too late.

RP is useless, bunch of old men talking like anime girls is not a valid reason for developer-made VOIP, but competitive games need it because competitive means that the goal is to win. Unranked for casual fun, competitive should have all the tools needed for reaching its goal. And VOIP is the most crucial one.

You know what's worse? Not being able to understand an entire language. That sucks. Or maybe you didn't actually read the post I was quoting. I'm pro full VoIP, not just proximity based VoIP.

I watched a minecraft pvp event with two teams that shared a single proximity VoIP channels. It was a riot.

"SHHHH I think I hear them."
"What was that?"
"Did you make that noise?"
"DID YOU MAKE THAT NOISE???"
"Not so loud, they're gunna hear you!"

I don't even remember who won. I do remember my side hurting from laughing.

I think having an opt in system for both VOIP, and Proximity VOIP is still the best way to go.

That means by default you won't hear all the crap that people spew through their mics, and if you switch it on and there is still someone with a broken mic or whatever just mute them.

Depends on the RP, but voice chatting is frowned upon in the serious communities. Competitive VOIP could work, but I'm still a bit afraid of people coming in micspamming and trolling, or just generally being obnoxious.
