Three Revolvers used in the war. The Remington was privately purchased by many officers on both sides, alongside many other American revolvers (Remember the Franco Prussian war was only 4 years after the American Civil war), The Dreyse revolver was also popular amongst Prussian officers, it was a revolver using the Dreyse needle rifles firing system. The Lefaucheux was popular in France and often owned by civilians. Historical officers who didn't purchase their own pistols were still giving awful smooth bore muzzle loading pistols like those of the Napoleonic wars, but they won't be in the mod because they're no fun at all.

Your character will now do a Bayonet charge while in melee mode and running with a bayonet, he runs normally with bullets selected.

+ Do you need a photoshoper?
I need a good loading and menu screen, not a painting with words over it, a real good one, if you or anyone wants to attempt it. I can use photoshop but i can't come up with a good looking screen.
 
This has probably already been answered, but will the French have Artillery, seeing they did have Artillery, but just vastly inferior to the Prussian's. As well as, again, you probably already thought of this, but does the Dreyse reload slower, as well as it's accuracy is inferior to the Chassepot? (Sorry, just  abit of a Germanophile *TotallyCantTellByMySignatureBanners*)

The French have artillery, it fires solid shot, but much more accurate than NWs with a higher velocity too, being a rifled cannon.
The Dreyse is slightly slower and less accurate but I've given the Prussians more ammution (Since they did also have better supplies) and it does a bit more damage than the chassepot, not historically correct but i have to balance it somewhere. The Prussians will make up for their less accuracy by being more liberal with the ammunition consumption.

 
The bayonet charge is excellent, will it deal damage automatically when you *touch* the enemy or will you still have to left click?

You still have to actually attack, it's just a running animation unfortunately.
 
Mostly a Cavalry update but also some other things.

The first image is the Francs-tireurs, French Partisans, civilian resistance, after the fall of the second empire they became a lot more organised and started getting uniforms, but before that they were a lot more irregular. They also can have a top hat which isn't shown there.

I guess nothing is stopping you from killing them, if you're scum. :razz:

As for their function, just healing I presume? Maybe you're going to introduce a wounding system, where when you're below certain percentage you fall to the ground, unable to move or fire, on the mercy of the enemy before you bleed out or get healed?

They will be able to heal players. In my rules it would be an offense to knowingly kill them but event organisers can have any rules they like.  Bots will just slaughter them unfortunately. People don't have bots in events though anyway.

I don't think thats within my abilities. I will be replacing surrendering with calling and waving for a medic.
 
I'm almost 100% it's possible, but you're right, it would take some pretty advanced coding. I'm trying to think of a similar system, and only one I can think of is in Vikingr, where your horses slow down as they get damaged. Maybe something similar for soldiers (And horses, naturally) in this mod, making medics much more interesting and valuable?
