They actually raised Vista's VR as a security concern. Apparently, there's a risk that hackers could send a sound file which when played would cause Vista to delete everything.

Doubt Microsoft will be losing too much sleep over that one...

My friend has Vista and it works just fine for him, this guy was making mistakes intentionally.

Yeah.  After you see once or twice that it picks up everything you say, including when you're talking to your buddy, wouldn't you ... er, stop talking to your buddy, or at least cover up the mic before doing so?

(*Guy puts hand on the mic*  "Man, this thing sure is a piece of ****."  Windows interprets scrapings on the mic as "rabble rabble rabble." )

You can turn off the microphone off (on XP) by saying "voice command", then "microphone".

When I first tried it (without training my profile) it wrote "Vice command Mike low phone"
