EDIT: though I should hasten to add that since I'm not a dev, their take on the matter might end up being different. I doubt it, though.

I have the same problem with AVG Free with every new patch.  I just disable its Resident Shield until I've downloaded the installer and got everything running.  The threat isn't genuine; someone else on this forum actually contacted AVG and got a reply confirming that the file is safe.
