Violent pornography banned in UK

Let's leave footage of actual rape and/or child abuse out of this discussion. Those are horrible things and are well covered by the existing legislation already.

What actually is being targeted here is ye olde rough porn. 
This apparently is supposed to include not only generic forced sex fantasy, but also BDSM and other similar genres.
I'm not entirely sure though. This quote sends a somewhat mixed message: "These images normalise sexual violence against women - and they are quite simply poisonous to the young people who see them." Does this mean that porn where males are the target of sexual violence will still be okay? Shall the Brits still have femdom? Probably not, it must have just been awkward wording.
Now a person in possession of aforementioned materials will face up to 3 years in jail. And they do broaden "possession" to watching it in a browser.
What do you all make of it? I don't care about your opinions on porn, I'm rather curious of how you feel about prosecuting people for what I can only define as thoughtcrime.

I don't believe photographs or video recordings of violent acts do anything important to anyone's mind. People who are offended or are not interested in it won't be watching it anyway and if some child accidentally sees something awful he won't normally be permanently traumatized and go on a murder spree, or become Bat Man.

I suppose the really violent stuff being banned is "sorta" ok, but what I don't like is this quote:

Every UK household will have to opt in if they want to be able to view online porn, David Cameron is expected to announce today.

Family-friendly filters which block pornography will be automatically selected for all new internet customers, it has been reported.

The Daily Mail said that all 19m UK homes with the internet will be contacted by service providers by the end of next year and ask whether family-friendly filters should be on or off.

If this filter is only for the really violent porn then that's ok, but if it bans all porn then....well....you know.

I wouldn't mind a government advisory with the pornography actors before or after the footage telling the viewer that they are acting or something. That would only apply to only official distributors of course.
