I would like to know how to get my village going good and not always poor. I have built everything it has to build and it just stays poor all the time. It also has cattle and I keepchecking with the elder to make sure its all good. I buy my goods there and it has around $3800 in the store. What do I need to do to make it a rich village not a poor one?

1. build Mill (I see U did it)
2. don't let any bandit/enemy raid it.
3. make sure any farmers that go from the village to the town/castle that bound to the village, come back to the village safely after doing their business at town/castle.
4. After 1-3 done, wait patiently..

I got my village to average doing those things.  The corresponding castle is still very poor.  I thought that castle wealth was dependent on village wealth.

Is there any way to raise the castles prosperity?

Can villages be raised above average?  I dont think I've seen any villages higher than average, just towns.

It´s very hard in native with he limited accessable boni to get it above average. First of all, go check the Mage Lords Tweak and use the tweak the mill so it gives the 5% wealth bonus regular - not only once when finishing it. Afterwards check the cattle tweak in the same thread and alter cattle birth rate a bit upwards. Ensure you do a backup copy of any file you alter.

Your village will increase slowly and steady then. Keep it from getting looted and purchase goods off them every so often - if the village has something like over 3500 denariii in its treasure prosperity should raise a bit too. Keep the farmers save. In case it´s a town, the caravans. Farmers run from your village, sell their goods in a town - which adds prosperity there - head home to your village and bury their coins under the apple tree - which adds prosperity there. Caravans add a chunk of prosperity to your town once they return from their trading circle and a little bit in every town they visit en route.

Doing a couple of quests increases prosperity as well (cattle, wheat, train militia) whereas e.g bandit infestination takes away a considerable amount of it which isn´t returned when you defeat them, so keep the area of your villages clear of bandits as less bandit spawns in an area result in less infestinations.

Growing your villages into something useful is pretty hard in native. Especially if you aren´t using the cattle/mill bonus tweak. Cattle birth rate is usually going towards zero by default, so after a certain amount of time it will be very hard to get any cattle anywhere. A real pain in the ass. And the mill bonus tweak will give you the 5% once a month or every two weeks, which will help greatly. If you´re relying only on quests, farmers and caravans it can take quite a time to raise your village to average or better.

It´s a personal preference wether you like your villages prospering or not. The difference between well maintained villages and breeding pits for pestilience is quite significant though, speaking in matters of coin. Hope this helped you a bit.
