Hmm, I would like to do village elder quest but I think the are extremly screwed up!

There are only 3 Quests. 2 of them suck and 1 seem to never apear...

Beside the cattle and train peasent quest, my main question is about the grain Quest:

Why do I NEVER get it? Okay, actually I got it once or twice but though I visit many villages the probablility of the grain quest goes about 0.

Does anyone know what might be the reason of this? Are there some requirements for the village to be able to provide this quest?
For instance, I have recognised that villages which cannot sell cattle very often demand cattle when I ask them for a quest.

Is there a tweak I can change this? I would like to do the quest 33/33/33%, not 60/35/<5%...

Damn! The game could be soo extremly good, but some things are terrible screwed up!

Hmm. I never get the grain quest or the train peasant one. Only the damn cattle one.

Definately one of the more busted things in Warband I've found. I don't even bother with them any more. I've retrieved cattle for a village, only to get the same request again. I check, by going to the purchase supplies menu, and they have 6 heads of cattle like a brought them, and the elder then tells me that bandits have driven all the cattle away. If I own the village, I build a school to maximize good relations.

Actually doeing Quest is quite a good thing for advancing in the game.

For instance the cattle quest: You pay ~1000 Denare and get 2x400XP (400 for yourself and 400 splitted upon your heros)
Additionally the town gets ~5 wealth(good when you own this town) and a good relationboost which helps you to get more units and also increases the chance to get BETTER Units(saves money, as they cost only 10)

Yeah, elderquest are quite useful but awfully boring and dont work as I would exspect them. With TweakMB you can exploit the whole thing a bit:
I buy ~20 cattle from a town and then I can do the cattle quest several times. Saves time and you do not have to bother with the training quest...

But a nicer way of doing quest woul be delivering grain as you could do it along the way IF THIS QUEST WAS PROVIDED^^

I didn't mean to suggest the quests were utterly useless. If you are fairly new to the game (heck, it's 3 months old, who isn't...) you should do them.

But I don't do them. Played this game through too many times and they are too tedious and my time is better spent doing other things. I have found that with just a small amount of positive relations, and keeping them from getting looted, I get all the recruits I need.

Ironically, I have discovered that at some point I'll have 100% relationship with a very rich village, and won't be able to get a recruit out of them.

I see in in another way  Elderquest are only useful in midgame+ and when you have some experience with warband. A beginner would just waste his money in the cattle quest and gets owned by the trained recruits^^

The traing quest is really stupid: If you have low trainer skill it takes annoyingly long and if you have high skill it is very difficult to beat those 3 peasents...
I have moderate fighting experience and sometimes I am in the tops of a duel server in MP but with normal damage and manual blocking the 3  facehugging peasents are very hard to beat...

I hope the next patch will bring improvements in quests.
Gamedesign for Quests is very poor. Just the fact that you (normally, without TweakMB) have to go to Guildmaster/elderman without a shortcut lets me shake my head...

Its not broken, they wont ask you for grain if they dont need grain, trying buying all there grain then trying to get the quest

Heh, and a village selling you all its grain so it's now starving wouldn't be considered "broken"?

It would be interesting if you could do a tweak/mod to make recruiting more difficult, and the game in general.

I'd like it if you couldn't recruit from indifferent villages. And that recruiting in general is harder. I commonly get 15+ recruits from a village with good relations... this is rather ridiculous I think, considering how few people live in a village, and that I can recruit so often .

.......

I'd like it if they (pathes?)/modders even, could find ways/options to make the game more difficult instead of just giving AI lords tons of top tier units. The way it is now, the highest difficulty just has everyone with top tier troops all the time... I'd appreciate it if we could have more diversity like easy/normal campaign difficulty AI lords... but just make it much more difficult for the player to train/recruits soldiers

And yeah... I've done the get grain quest once, and both the training and cattle quest at least 20 times each :X.
