Village produces footmen?

Sergeant at Arms
So I have this village called Azgad, I recently increased my relationship with them to 23.

I never knew this would happen but as usual I would recruit and out of the corner of my eye I saw 4 footmen instead of recruits.
I immediately checked to confirm this and it did happen! I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with prosperity as I haven't even got around to build anything. Could it be relationship?

Edit: I'm not using town troops mod just to let you know. (I didn't even try it)

If you have a high enough relation with the village, they will sometimes offer Tier 2 troops. In your case, [Swadian] Footmen.

Actually I was once offered 11 Swadian Men at Arms and at another time 52 Swadian Recruits.

WOOT?!? 52 men?? That's like the whole village grabbing their pitchforks and volunteering to follow you! And 11 men at arms? That's halfway to building a small army! What was you relation with the village?

Whoever claimed that relations were pointless can stick his recruit pitchfork up his ass - this is great, shows that M&B isn't as half-assed as people like to claim.

If 11 Men-at-Arms is half an army, what is my usual 30 Swadian Knights?

My best recruit offer so far is 24 Men-at-Arms though

Incredible! How good relation did you have with your village? And I wasn't really serious about that "half an army" thing XD.
This rises a strange question though: how come that a smaal, poor, weak little village raise 24 swadian men at arms? I reckon that would cost pretty much...

I was offered 10 Nord Warriors just yesterday, before that I was offered 15 trained nord footmen. I don't know what my village is doing to train but they need to keep it up.

I usually get tier-2 troops, but my relationship with my primary village is 95. Of course, the smallest number of troops I've seen since I got there has been 20, and that was the one time I got khergit horse archers.

Whoa. It's a shame that almost every village hates me 'cause I kill those criminals hiding in there.

You know that you can press tab as soon as you kill the criminal and leave right?
That way you won't have a decreased relationship with them.

I once recruited 40 Nord Warriors from the village of Mechin... that was a one-time deal, it seems, though, because since that time I've only gotten recruits or footmen.

I had a perfect 100 with my village; those bandits sure do love to take up residence and then be slaughtered to the last man.

Also, I think the school is doing it's additional +1 a bit more frequently than advertised, but I haven't checked.

Oh, that was good. *Hehehe, agh...*
My relation was 99 in both instances, but the consistency of offers like these seems to be dependant on the frequency of your visits to recruit. Anyone else feel the same. I found that is I kept ploughing, the crops got healthier - so to speak.

Not really - I rarely visited my village as I was fighting Nords with Swadians. Not a lot of losses, and I don't lose many guys until they're at the highest tiers - outleveling all of your troops with trainer 7 pretty much eliminates the need to raid caravans for troop xp. Even with visits once at week at best I get large, higher-tier troop offers on occasion. Frequent visits just means you roll the dice more; you see the nice recruits more often simply because you see more offers.
