Village Culture should matter more

There's something that bugged me a lot in Warband and it's currently the same in Bannerlord. When a faction takes a village, the original owners will immediately turn on this village and start raiding it even though they still belong to the same culture. Lords should be less likely to raid villages that belong to their own culture. They should also prioritize retaking cities and castles that had originally belonged to their culture. And owning a village of another culture should penalize the lord who owns it somehow, this should also help with the streamrolling that currently happens in campaigns. Then after a certain amount of time, eventually the village culture would change to match it's owner. Also, a nice QOL change would be that hovering over a village should show the village culture.

I like everything except village cultures changing over time. Eventually wouldn't that remove any choice in army unit type once a kingdom captured enough settlements? Additionally how would a player's kingdom's culture be selected? Their background at the start? I would hate to have to pick a certain background just to ensure my settlements produced a certain culture of soldier.

My idea for changing cultures is that it is an option for the owner to attempt to change the culture, but to do that they need a strong military presence, the people being assimilated would be likely to fight back, especially if there are attempts to assimilate them quickly.

I like that. Maybe maintaining a proper garrison in the castle is required to keep another cultured village in line? Otherwise the villagers themselves could retake the castle.

I can get behind it as an option, but until the AI snowballing is addressed I'd still be worried about the distinct possibility of a culture being entirely obliterated.

Maybe the culture lives on in the looters and bandits? And perhaps their is always a 'Renegade' kind of person is each town that retains the culture so you always have atleast 1 row of troops to buy from the original culture so you can't lose out on them entierly

Yes, this is what I was thinking about peasant revolt the other day, you would need to oppress them for a while in order for this not to happen, not that it would be definite, different towns could have different volatile factors meaning some places are more likely to fight back than others, leading to a huge riot that you have to go in and fight on the streets. This volatile factor could be affected by how badly a towns forces are beaten and how much garrison you leave there.

I like this idea. Having 2 cultures of troops available in a settlement would be really cool.
