Vikingr Trailer

So, as some of you might have heard, I have been working on a trailer the last few days.
I was working on it about a week ago, but then my editing software thought it would be fun to crash and erase my project.
So jesterday I started over again, and i finished it. I hope you guys like it, give me some feedback etc. since i'm a film making /editor student.
Enjoy!

Awesome! Music fits perfectly and plays really well with the appearing title. I wish there was an event though, where you could capture many people at once, but not as stupid and silly equipped as bots

Good show Vaskr, nice piece of work! Thrilling, especially with the excellent soundtrack. Although if you would allow me to give a wee bit of feedback, I recommend cutting 30 seconds to a minute from the trailer. I feel like it's perhaps a tad too long. But otherwise: good job!

Very nice! I dont like bots but because we cant get so many people without event its fine.

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone!
I agree with both that its a little too long, and about the bots aswell.  But it was kind of hard to get allot of players in a nice shot,
Soi though bots would be the best solution.

Proost!

Very nice job and perfect soundtrack, too bad for the bots. We should make some kinda trailer event sometimes.
Anyway if I can make you a little critic, I think your work, as a trailer, looks like somewhat old-fashioned; when I see a trailer I generally expect something a bit faster-paced. You wouldn't get all the details, but it'd shake you, it'd leave you like "wtf did I just saw" etc. I know it may be looking like kinda Mtv video and maybe you wanted to avoid that effect, that is just my idea - I'm not an expert: you should try to cut (as previously suggested) or edit parts of the video by shortening the sequences, it may work more effectively - i.e. 1:44-1:55, you may simply cut or you could show more battlegrounds! Still, a very good work.

(btw, if you haven't seen the 1958 movie, DO IT, it's AWESOME!)

I would like to see one more fast-paced with folk metal. All that blood and gore... Dunno, maybe I sould try myself.
Would surely be more mainstream than my poetry...

Ah I must say I prefer a slower pace by far, having 20 cuts a second and overlapping speech parts doesn't add much to the experience for me^^
It is indeed sad about the bots though, and I suspect some maps would have made for a better background too, yet all in all it really made a good impression. For the next event we could really try getting a bit more recording material together, maybe you could try to combine it into something like a compilation if you are interested.

@ Fritz

Thanks for your feedback, highly appriciated. If we're going to do an event of some sort any time soon i will definitly make a trailer/video of it and do it the fast phased style ;D  and on the 1958 movie, oh yes i saw it and i love it!

@ sotijalo

I love folk metal, and even though it will work with a vikingr video, i wouldn't do it, because poeple who do not like that particular genre would probably click away the first second the video starts. There's one with a turisas song on youtube though.
thanks ;D

So, there are Vikingr players who aren't folk metallers? Really?
Jokes aside, as medievalish fast paced pieces, something from oldest or newest Corvus Corax or something like that could work without frighten anyone

I live that one ^^

this might work aswell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoxw46rB428
Though i think the Wardruna styled music fits really good too

After we get the indoor brawl map somebody has to make a vid about it with this music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxBKgOyMzSc
Actually that's the main reason I wanted the map to be created

Someone make a Robert Downey Jr. face too

Btw nice trailer, the only thing I don't agree with is that 'fight with honor' part, fun>honor.
