I believe I've seen already swords in Ribe, at least I'm positive I've found some variant of item called "Rich Sword" there (which is amazing, btw), it's just that they rarely show up in shops at all.
I was only asking if i could buy a viking sword in Ribe, not who or where they make them in real life... yes ulfberht sword was a high quality sword, and was made in Frankish.. but Danish swedes and norwagiens made some fine swords too, when they got the iron from frankish or asia, the iron in scandinavia is mostly from the ground, and is not as good as the iron from mountains..
At the end of the 8th century in the Rhine area appeared a new technique for producing very strong and flexible sword blades of steel with little impurities, obtained by casting crucibles, something that the high melting temperature of iron had made difficult. So the Frankish swords were of higher quality steel that the pattern welded swords, which were the best ones until that times.
Today no specialist doubts that the Viking Age weapons found in Scandinavia are a mix of indigenous and imported elements, and it's clear that crucible steel swords with inscriptions (like Ulfberht’s) have a Frankish origin. There also an agreement that the inlay ornaments in the swords handles are local additions. The academic discussion is about if the Nordic smiths knew the pattern welding technique, as there are only a few archaeological examples from the beginning of the Viking Age, or if these sword blades are also imported, as J . Petersen and H. Arbman believed. Some studies based on x-rays have revealed that a high percentage of Viking blades are pattern welded, and this tends to support the idea that they were local manufactures. Irmelin Martens has suggested that a small number of Nordic smiths from the ports of Hedeby, Birka or Kaupang discovered the forging innovations from the Frankish realm and spread it all around Norse world.

It is so retarded Nad, Widow-maker, and the other unique swords with names all use the same model. Yet we have a bunch of Noble swords that look awesome, I really like the one with the green scabbard for my celtic characters. Those are the swords that should be use for the unique name blades imo.
