Really enjoying all the updates ! Would like to add my support for making the actual running speeds (esp. in battle for an old timer like me) a bit slower like the other mods. Great job, keep up the great work. I have recommended it to all my friends who are now playing as well.
 
We've just updated the beta to include the following fixes:-

-Texture loading time improved at game start and ram usage decreased
-Fix for player getting stuck in captivity

Ooooh right! Forgot about the Picts! I highly doubt they actually had them though. Not that I wouldn't trust excellent historians in devs team but it just,seems strange to me why this crossbow wouldn't be copied by others at the time if it was of any good use. Maybe the depiction is showing a different bow horizontally positioned?

Ok, I know we won't get to bottom of this but if general historian consent is that those sere indeed crossbows then I won't be restless any more.  :razz:

1.03 has KILLED my old save! Anybody else had this?

Just get a locked screen of tearing and bugs but the notes of whats happening in the game appear, e.g. told me I failed a quest and my village hates me lol. tried getting a screen shot but froze my PC plus long loading screen into the save game (the hour long wait loading up the actual has gone huzzah).

Haven't tried a new game though, so will test that out at some point I suppose.

I really want that too. Even on slower combat speed the game is faster than native. I posted about it on release IIRC and other feedback threads.

Maybe next patch  :smile: or when they release the modules  :neutral:

Also, since this latest patch, I am losing 5 morale for my "party" every few days, despite the fact that I don't have a party yet, it's just me wandering around Friese without having recruited any soldiers or companions yet.

As well as this I am randomly getting deteriorating relationships with various Lords whom I have never met on the world map nor had any interaction with their faction. This relationship deterioration doesn't show up on my relationships tab but I do get the quickmessages rolling up my screen.

So, to sum up, 6 in-game days into my new game (started on beta 1.03) I am losing morale despite not having any soldiers, and am losing relationship points with people as far away as Ireland despite the fact I haven't left Friese yet (I have not raided any towns/monasteries yet just fought bandits and done some quests for Doccinga)

If you could look into this I'd appreciate it. Thanks

you losing morale because it's winter (most likely)

All pagan lords will randomly lose some relations with christian lords
 
Is this on modb? Not everyone has or wants STEAM(ing pile o' crap), could you please support non-users more. Thanks.

Picts have crossbows. Supposedly they used them (that's what the pictures tell us, but noone really knows).

What about the Skåne lockbow too?

I can appreciate both these points. However, in my lowly opinion I think it shouldn't be the case that I lose morale when I am the only character in my party, surely this should be altered to only occur when you actually have companions/soldiers?

Also, I can appreciate that Christian lords would have negative relationships with Pagan ones. However surely this should only occur when my character would be "known" to the various Lords i.e. Be a King/Be a sworn vassal/Mercenary/Have fought their faction etc. At this point in my game I am a shipwrecked ex-slave who is looking for his mother, I don't think Christian lords around Europe should have any opinion of me at all yet, never mind dislike me.

I doubt these will be changed but I just think it would make more sense.

I am a big fan of the game in general though and love the concept.
 
Hi!

Most of the time I play in 1st person view. Every time I die I saw my character lost his head in the death cam.

I remember this also happen in native in the wedding scene.

Not a serious bug though...  :neutral:

As part of the campaign, I was told to take Din Bych and hold it for 30 days. I captured Din Bych when I was still using version 1.02 and it has been a few days. I loaded up the new 1.03 beta. I can't recruit any men from the castle. I don't remember if I could before but I definitely can't now. Does it have something to do with starting in version 1.02 and having the castle and going into 1.03? If I get a castle in 1.03 will I be able to recruit?

Nope, unfortunately I am still unable to play the game. It crashes while loading a save this time around, opposed to before, where I could sometimes get into the game and do stuff (before it crashed randomly). I feel like there's a simple fix, I just haven't found it yet. I've tried everything from switching DirectX versions to disabling sound. Sometimes disabling sound works but it's really just a gamble.

Any ideas, anybody? I really do love the work that has been put in so far, I mean the developers are really doing a fantastic job staying on top of these issues that people are having, despite their hands being so full. However, not being able to play a game I spent a tenner on is a bit... lame, y'know?

Let me know if anybody has any ideas that could make my game work. Thanks in advance!

You are using very old savegame, maybe 1.0. Well, in storyline your companions shouldnt leave your party. They are necesary for run quest. You try to recovery them to your party asap or you possibly will have storyline break.

Well, your savegame is old and it lost a variable. Please, send pm me with your savegame, I think that I know where problem is, but I need to see.

You remember me which was your problem and why are you using cheats? We changed some cheats for problems in some old savegames, but this works depend on situation.

If you click a second time after recruiting, it will say "you need permission from the lord". If you go ask the lord, you can recruit again (even if you just recruited) letting you get infinite recruitments.

This patch is a big improvement, and I can play a battle of 240 V 150 without crashing, however...
If I have to fight 2 big battles in a row, I freeze in battle and have to always Alt Tab to try to keep playing..Sometimes I just crash.
I have worked on every setting I can think of.

I can only think of 2 solutions to this problem:-

1) Please change the system requirements to play this...(I have a feeling that the problem is with XP 32 bit systems)
2) Please change the Minimum Battle Size to below 150 (I have experienced this problem on other Mods and never crashed when I used battle size below 100)

I do not think I am the only person with the battle size problem due to my computer.

My System specs are:-
Windows XP 32 bit 2002 Service Pack 3
Intel Core 2 Quad
Q8400 @ 2.66 GHz
3.25 GB RAM
ATI HD4870 (512MB)

Patch 1.02 said it fixed the Aescendun (I think I spelt that correctly...) quest for cattle, but that bug is still happening even on a new save. I'm just hoping this Beta update fixes it.

You need to update your quest (reset) in camp menu > game options. Then, you back to talk to your lord and he will give quest you again. all will work.

1.03 in steam is a beta, as soon as it will be correct, you will get it release in all selling channels

To select this, you need to right click on "Mount & Blade Warband" in your Library, select Properties, open the BETAS tab and enter "betapassword" then press Check Codes. Then select the beta from the dropdown menu. You may need to close and restart steam for the download to begin.

I'm assuming the giant warning signs are a part of the problem.

 
After last patch 1.03 beta I got one error with DirectX and game stop responding that happens after i won big battle and shared collected loots, when i filled up loot so i could not add more loot when i press down CTRL and pick with mouse and hold the loot DirectX stop working and game stop responding. Windows 8.1 pro 64bit - I4770K - 32GB - GTX780TI all latest drivers installed for system. and dxdiag say all things OK in Windows.

Answer:
In story-mode you need to have the companions the story gives you.

Some will abandon you but that is cause the storyline and its normal.

You have a few (3-4 IIRC that are not part of the story and could be found in taverns).

New updates will prevent you from sending companions on missions and thus failing to have them on your party for a quest. If you have any doing a mission I would stop doing quests and wait until they all return to you (few ingames days, you could camp or do other stuff like raids).
