Viking Conquest Update 1.02 (released)

After the patch I now have massive stutter in the world map. I did not have it before 1.02. I have tried the settings you recommended here and it did not improve.
Whatever you changed there in this patch was for the worse

Well, I guess that this is fps drop problem. A warband patch and VC patch is comming to fix this. We are testing in scenes and world map now.

I still have a major problem, every time i start the game it will take hours to get passed the first loading screen. The game gets stuck at loading textures. Once the game is up and running it will take like 10 seconds to respond to every mouseclick in game and menu. Anybody else has this problem? And is there a fix coming up?

It takes forever to load and only a few times it asks for username and password, I'm already logged in on taleworlds and the username and password don't work, am I missing something?

LOADING SCREEN PROBLEM

Some players have problems in loading screen, this looks some configuration problem. The most them fixed with some these changes (you try one to one these options):

1. Auto Ajust in configuration options.
2. Disabling of use_pixel_shaders, use_vertex_shaders and fake_reflections
use_pixel_shaders = 0
use_vertex_shaders = 0
fake_reflections = 0

3. Enabling force_vsync. Also, be sure to disable HDR mode (those options enabled together tend to cause performance issues)
4. Enabling force_single_threading = 1
5. Reinstall Warband and VC

Same problem, we need a http link. I had to download it in my VPS and then download it from there because the ftp link would not work.

Same problem, we need a http link. I had to download it in my VPS and then download it from there because the ftp link would not work.

check your installation. Warband version and VC version. If you use Steam verify your files. If not try do a fresh reinstall of the game.

If it still fails open a support thread (on support forum).

btw, it is working on my PC.

I'd be curious to know if you're having the same map stutter, crash to desktop, and general poor map performance issues as a whole lot of other people seem to be.

Also, I want to put out my thanks for the entire team – you guys have been working pretty hard amidst a lot of complaint for the sake of making Viking Conquest an awesome DLC, and I know it's a thankless task when things sometimes don't go as planned. Kudos to you guys!

While I don't want to seem pushy or ungrateful or anything, would there happen to be any sort of ETA on 1.03 or a hotfix for the map problems? Viking Conquest is at present pretty much unplayable for me (and a few other people). Alternatively, is there any way for Steam users to go back to 1.01 if they're having unresolvable problems with 1.02? The official site only has 1.02 up for download. Not to put pressure on or anything I'm just curious. I love this DLC and I'd like to be able to enjoy it again!

I was in the 1.02 Beta, now that the full patch has been released, I have a CTD every time I try to load up my campaign save. Everything else works fine. Any suggestions?

The "Deliver cattle quest" in Aescesdun seems not to be fixed... It somehow disappeared or was cancelled... don't know why... now I am stuck and have no save game sadly 

Other Little bugs in 1.02:
- heads of decapitated people stay in the air
- there are some big blue "?" in the Middlesburh Scene
- the Merchant in Aescesdun is half hidden in a house
- sea travelling seems fine now, but you can't enter loads of normal country. So sometimes you get stuck in a town where you stayed over night cause you don't find a single "valid" part of the surrounding countryside to end your rest... took me a day to leave Brycheiniog 
- some of my soldiers still try to suicide themselves in some sea battles... even my character does it sometimes... I just start three meters away from my ship... not in every battle though...

they gonna add a reset option for this quest (cheat menu) on 1.03. And they are redoing the quest so it shouldnt fail after some days (time limit).

Cant you use your oldsavegame file?
C:\Users\[your user here]\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband Savegames\Viking Conquest\last_savegame_backup.sav

rename it to something like sg09.sav so it will show up ingame.

the low FPS on world map when resting causes that for me. I have to click several times to break camp/rest. Just do a quick 2-4 clicks with your mouse. That until they fix the map lag.

is your game up to date?

If yes -> create a support thread (support forum), read the sticky post there to know what to add (logs, config files, etc) and add your savegame.

Big thanks to the Brytenwalda team for this latest update.  I played for several hours and got only one crash while camping in town!  (As opposed to it crashing every 30 min or so at release).  Only noticed one bug - in the caravan escort quest the caravan did not switch icons to a boat.  But the quest still worked otherwise. 

Thanks so much!  This is so much fun!  I especially appreciate the fact that you can leave loot to your troops for a morale boost.  It takes the pressure off emptying inventories and consequently reduces the grinding feeling of fighting several battles in a row.

Sadly I had saved it by accident after the quest was cancelled...    but thanks for the reply... will just start another character... there are worse things in live than a lost savegame...
