Looks nice.

Well done optimizing and giving free content, after the rather unpleasant start of the dlc.

Keep it up.

Have a question. Since in VC you can play as either a famous/high reputation warrior or an infamous raider, is it possible to marry as a raider?

So for example, in my current playthrough I decided to go for the raiding route since all my previous games were as nobles. However the end game is still starting your own kingdom. Is it possible to marry while having negative reputation?

Also, can maidens only be found at feasts? More often than not I only see lords at feasts and no maidens to court....

nope, only a lord can marry a lady (noble). As a non-lord you would marry a peasant, but that is not a ingame feature (so you need to RP it)

There is no endgame, as it is a sandbox
Become a king is just one of the ways you can play
And yes, you can marry with negative reputation, but some ladies will not accept you because of it (depends on personality)

Yes, but as the halls in VC are smaller than native (castles), they are more rare (the spots are taken by lords). Remember that you can also marry someone by asking the guardian (father/brother/etc) for permission, meeting them in a feast is just one of the ways to start it

Thanks for your reply. Since you said you need to be a lord to marry, I would assume that a raider turned king would automatically fulfill that requirement?

As long as you have a fort or a town with a hall, it should work, yes.
Your future wife would not be interested in traveling and plundering across the country, but would like to have a comfy and warm hall to live in.

Pagans drowned Homosexuals in bogs, as it should be.

Maybe the devs could put this in as a quest.

Joking aside, I don't think he's joking though, he's just stating what actually happened at the time, although they were hanged first rather than drowned in some cases.

Maybe I'm wrong but why pictish elite skirmishers doens't have xbows ?
I remember they had this good weapons but they have have anymore ... Why ? :'(

I just checked their inventories and they do have crossbows.

Hey, I'm not entirely sure if this is the right spot or not, but I tried the mining today, and well, the hitboxes don't seem to do very well, even though I was aiming right at it, it still was somehow a miss. And is there a way to slow down the text when you enter ruins? It was moving too fast to read. And I tried a slave hunting mission, but when it said in the area, did that mean in the village or the main map?

Hi Shishio,

The engine work as it works, nothing to do about that.
And is there a way to slow down the text when you enter ruins?
Indeed, but we can't go 1 by 1 changing the time the panel is visible. We set some different length groups and we set custom time to each group.
And I tried a slave hunting mission, but when it said in the area, did that mean in the village or the main map?
It should be "close" to the village in the campaign map.

Great mod.

I uh, I see alot space right down near where Normandy would be...Just sayin...

Also I never understood(and never got an answer)in other mods as to why you couldn't start as a landed baron or named character of the time period(eg crusader kings), hoping this new play as a ruler feature is a continued step in this direction!

*Hrolf* Cough *rollo* cough.

I'm liking a lot of the work you guys are putting into the mod, keep up the good work!

One idea though: It's nearly impossible to stay on good terms with both Christians and Pagans. While I DO think it should be difficult, I hope we can get some way to at least stay on equitable terms with both. Monasteries and Hofs are full of treasure, surely (particularly large) bandit parties would attempt to raid them on occasion, perhaps we can enjoy a popularity boost by intervening?

I have minor gripes about documentation for various 'specials'; Still not entirely certain what ability set makes a character a Berserker, I've managed to unlock 'Inspiring' trait, but I have no idea what good it does, apart from making people shout on command. Also I've heard of other specials like 'Skirt Chaser' (alright, make 5 ladies 'love' you, no mention what counts as 'love', 100 influence?) and 'dungeon master' (5 lords in dungeon, fair enough, but what's the BENEFIT?) I've tried going through game files, but nothing.

And my absolute biggest gripe is the new story arc, The last Tuatha de Danann, come on guys! You gave us an engaging new character (given the competition) and a TERRIBLE resolution.

I was just wondering if we will be able to try the Viking Conquest DLC on the Steam free weekend  that is going on now.  Earlier today, it said that you could play WB and its expansions for free until Sunday at 1 pm PDT, but now it doesn't say that any more.  Was it just an error?  I would like to know because I was looking forward to trying out VC.

You should definitely be able to try Viking Conquest for free this weekend on Steam. We are included in it.

I don't see a 'Play Game' button on the VC store page like with the Warband page:

How are the players supposed to access the free trial?

Edit: Are they supposed to use the library-warband-properties-dlc tab to enable it? If so it probably isn't that obvious a method.

Seems I've been misinformed. My understanding was the free weekend included the DLC's.
