Views and Observations on Bannerlord compared to Warband

I too am massively surprised and a little dissapointed by what has been done in eight years (esp considering they have basically revamped a game rather than made one from scratch).

The only reason im not mad is that im confident it will develop into what it should be. Like someone else here said, if taleworlds dont do it the modding community will.

This is the painful truth. I love TaleWorlds and this entire series with my whole heart but even for EA, the current state of the game for an 8 year long project development is extremely disappointing. Luckily, Warband had one of the greatest mod communities with a burning passion and love for the game. Whatever TaleWorlds doesn't manage to fix/implement by the time Bannerlord fully releases, the community will. Unfortunately, that also means an indefinite amount of waiting. Again.

10/10 didn't wait long enough.

Marriage gives you relationship bonuses and you can have kids. Did anyone expect more on release when it sat in video game purgatory for 8 years I'm surprised it ever came out at all.

It shouldn't be on the mod community, Bethesda get's **** for this why not Taleworlds? Personally I'm not feeling too confident that TW will make the correct changes, from the way the multiplayer community has been ignored I feel Mount and Blade is no longer what a lot of fans wanted or hoped for, especially those that modded.

I guess i agree with everything. Im not sure about the skill system. Still can't tell which one i prefer.
Also i honestly don't care about the map being changed. I never got immersed in Calradia so my immersion can't be broken by a wrong map.

You won't find any good armor and diversity is kinda low.
Partly the selected timeframe is the problem here. I often read in the forum that people think certain weapons, equipment and troops don't fit in the setting.
I personally don't care. I think diversity is more important.

Some things i would add.
- Not enough variety in the side quests. I wish this game had a stealth mechanic so you could have sneak, sabotage, scouting missions.
- Bugs like archers not shooting is extremly annoying.
- Hideout attacks aren't fun. (Here my suggestion how to change them https://forums.taleworlds.com/index...hideout-attacks-more-fun.399915/#post-9285948)

In the end the main gameplay loop just being incredible grindy is my main problem. First you hunt bandits for hours and then lords. There is just to little change.

well, all i know they used 7.5 years of 8 year development process for building new game engine and codes so the current game you see is 6 months work or so if you ask me. because if you work for more than 6 months and this game is all you can do, then i call you complete useless.

i can understand some game mechanics and game engine can take a lot time but since they got millions of euros since 30 march, they should employ some people to create voice dialogues for every single character in the game.

I guess im withholding the kinda scrutiny id throw at other game developers because I dont actually know how big Taleworlds is - I assume they must be small but without knowing how small its hard to critisize the amount of work they have done.
