View differs in different armets

I think it will be more realistic when your view changes according to your armet. For example, when you are in a full-coverd armet, your view should be limited to only two holes.

Armet is the helmet which has an active veil in front. And I think the view should be like this when wearing an armet.

PS: My drawing skill is really not good.

Oh yes, sorry, didnt think about that, youre right would be cool to have that effect on those helms, but it shouldnt be so pronounced, after all your eyes arent focused on the helmets grille but much further away

There are more important features than this right now. How would want to get the blurred effect anyway.

I'd say no, as the FOV imposed by a screen is actually smaller than what would be visible from most full face helms. If you've ever worn glasses/sunglasses, you'd know you can see a lot from an eye sized vision slit.

This would only make sense if you played the game from a first-person perspective, which I don't think many people do. Forcing it would be a bad idea.

It's one thing when the obstruction is perched above your nose, and another when it's several inches in front of your face.

Personally, I think this would make for an interesting visual addition to the game. Granting MMad's point, it would only make sense for it to occur in first-person view, but I don't see any reason that should be a problem. You can always make it an optional setting in the visual options for the game.

I get that whenever I've had a few too many.

One thing is you could achieve a similar effect by wearing...oh, I don't know: a cheese grater in front of your eyes (tied with strings around your head) or one could wear a cardboard mask with a rectangular vision slit when you're all geared up.

No, I don't do that myself. My M&B days have passed...

It's only several inches from your face in tilting helms, otherwise the vision slits are pretty close.

I was thinking about that while wearing the heaume [great helm].

Helms rarely afforded a good field of vision, no matter how wide the slits were [and they were quite narrow, and funnel shaped].
Tried one IRL, and it was quite restrictive.

Game-wise, only one kind of helm could restrict vision, and the 3rd person camera beats the whole sense of it.

Yet, since the 1st p. camera allows chars to see their own body and feet, wearing a visored helm *could* restrict 1st p. vision as well.

Considering how many ppl actually use 1st p. I wouldn't call it a priority.
But it would fun nonetheless.

You can't turn your head in 1st person (without moving your body) so I don't see any need to restrict it even more.

Actually, you can if you're on a horse.

I don't think it would really add any functionality to the game, but it would add a bit of atmosphere. If you're trying to fight while looking through the eye slits in a closed helm, it'll give you more of a feeling of being a heavily-armored knight in battle, rather than the observer of a heavily-armored knight in battle. And of course, making it an option you can turn off means those that don't care about that extra degree of immersion don't have to deal with it.
