Very slow game in multiplayer recently.

Since 2 days my Warband is giving me serious graphic trouble. And I never had any of these before.
And it is getting worse.
If I enter a multiplayer game the framerate is very slow, seems like a very big lag. Ping is always good. On the 22nd siege server I get a 24 ping.
The problem is less on less populated servers but it still very slow.
In singleplayer everything is okay. Just as it used to be a couple of days ago.

I switched firewall off, anti-virus off, set game graphic to lowest. Updated video drivers. No improvement.
Ran a virusscan. Defragmented the harddisks. Cleaned up registries. Etc. No improvement.
Reinstalled the game (STEAM version). No improvement.
Changed different resolutions. No improvement.

It seems that when I run the game in multiplayer the CPU is working overtime. When I get out of the game this still holds on for a minute or so. Seems like the whole pc is slower and moving opened windows on the desktop are even stuttering.

Now I tested other games yesterday with no problems. Napoleon Total War at high settings. World of Tanks.. no problem.
So I guess its not the graphics card.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,

IndiaQuinn

Think I have solved the problem.
My cpu was at 90 degrees celsius and rising.
Appeared my water cooling system was not operating. Added some fluid and got it running again.  CPU back at 28 celsius.
Went to mulitplayer. Seems problems are over...

Yes. I know first do diagnostics yourself. But you all probably know the feeling. After you tried everything, you oversee something very simple. A hardware thing.
